Kings Jr. arrested......again

That gives Arnett a huge opportunity to move into a bigger role. Burbridge and Arnett should lead the way this year.

Luckily for him he finished probation early in December. He's charged with 2 misdemeanors that will probably be plead down to something less. Kid likes the sauce.

Think it gets plead down to a civil infraction, no probation just a fine, but they might force him to attend alcohol counseling. As for Coach D, no way he throws him off the team unless it comes out that his behavior was egregious. I'd bet he misses some games though. He was suspended for all of Spring practice last year and I think that really hurt his development, would not surprise me if he misses all of Spring practice this year too and the 1st 3 or 4 games of the season.

Or they could suspend him for the year and red shirt him with the idea he could earn another year if he works hard.

Hearing some rumors, multiple players were walking in downtown east lansing and the players were almost hit by a car. The situation escalated and kings kicked the bumper and a cop saw him. Kings claimed the driver was at fault and words were exchanged with the cops.

sounds like a typical night out in EL

Wow, a parking enforcement vehicle almost hit him so he kicked the bumper causing no damage. The cops came and he resisted arrest by claiming he didn't do anything wrong. The drunken disorderly charge can be levied without a drop of alcohol in his system, so I'm interested to see if they did a breathalyzer test.

Unless there's more to this I see him missing most of the Spring and then 1 game in the Fall.

ELPD are the worst, they would even lie just to make a arrest. Ive never seen more overzealous keystone cops.

I hope thats it, we really need him!

Yeah, anyone who has ever walked around EL at night more than a few times has seen someone arrested for something like this, it's garbage. Not excusing Kings, he was probably acting like a fool, but this is typical.

The police probably handcuffed him as soon as they walked up and he asked them why he was being handcuffed. It's not as bad as when the police in EL would knock on doors and tell people they have to move their cars out of the street or they would have them towed, then stand there and breathalyze the person that moved their car from the street to their driveway and arrest them for drunk driving.

That's awful. When I was at State, E Lansing led the nation in per capita alcohol related arrests and was among the top in drunk driving arrests but I never heard of anything as egregious as entrapment. But I have witnessed lots of people get open intoxicant tickets - lucky enough to have never gotten one. A friend of mine clearly hit the lotto when he got pulled over 2 blocks from home after a night at PT's. The cop got him out of his car, asked him a million questions, gave him a battery field sobriety tests and then said something like "I've never seen a drunk pass all these tests so well. get in your car and go home and stay there." Then she followed us to make sure we did what she said. The only cool cop in E Lansing.

During welcome week 1995 they were searching peoples backpacks just walking down the sidewalk....literally everyone that walked by. Even better. I had some friends that got a knock at the door and they said "from the outside looking in it appeared there was underage drinking"??? fuck those bastards. And if youve ever just tried to talk to one normally they have the worst attitude of any cops ive ever encountered.

try talking to a Chicago cop - they'll make E Lansing cops seem like Julie McCoy...

Im from here and live downtown so nobody knows better than me. There is a big diference, Ive had a lot of cops that are nice to me here IF YOU ARE NICE TO THEM. Talk smack to one and there is a chance youll get beaten, ive seen it happen. They have real jobs here, EL are there to police DUIs and alcohol related offenses. If you arent doing anything violent they dont care here 90% of the time in Chicago. ELPD are looking for anything and many times lying to make an arrest. I like Chicago cops much more, just dont be an asshole and you wont have any problem. You cant even talk to an ELPD cop without them sneering at you, they are at war with the students and that is their awkward mentality. Id like to see them deal with what the Chicago cops deal with THEN their attitudes would be a bit more justifiable. Then again it wouldnt given Chicago cops are much cooler than ELPD cops if you dont mouth off.

Yeah, I worked for a few years before I went to MSU so I was 21 my first year there, I got stopped and searched on the way home from the library one night and almost went to jail because I didn't have my drivers license on me to prove I was 21. It was completely out of control there.

When I was there I had friends in the dorm, well the MSU police passed a law that said if you opened the door when police knocked you have agreed to a search of your dorm room. With no peep holes you pretty much had to open the door to see who it was.

Chris L Rucker got a DUI for exactly what I described, the cops told him he had to move his car from the street to the parking garage, he complied and did so, when he got out of his car the officer asked him, "have you been drinking?" Then he blew a .095 which was above the just established legal limit of .08, but below the previous limit of .10.
