You guys talk too much.

Bottom line he bitched got a huge deal and was a let down, especially early. Doesn't say he sucks but you want to paid top money, you should show it each and every year. Barry never had a letdown season.

Statistically, guys who hold out of camp for more money are more prone to nagging injuries like hamstrings and quads.

The less time you spend in camp, the more likely you are to have a down season due to some kind of injury.

In a training season already cut short by a strike, Johnson's hold out obviously created an even bigger problem because the guy never looked full speed all season.

I'm not going to knock him as being a big contract bust for having one disappointing season but we've all seen those guys that have the minor injury and never really get back to full speed either. He's going to have to do a hell of a lot more next season to live up to the money he got paid.

Johnson is an elite player in today's game, but he's already hurt his odds of being remembered as one of the best ever because Mitch is right.. those guys never had down years.

All I got from that was "Mitch is right". It happens so rarely.. :hehe:

I would never draft a RB in the first two rounds. History shows it is not worth it.

Was Javed Beast worth it? Look at some of the better players, like Drew 60th, Rice 2nd rd, Turner 5th round, McCoy 53rd 2nd rd, Foster un-drafted, etc. Not to mention all the 1st and 2nd rd busts. Occasionally there will be a Peterson or Sanders but those are far and few between, especially with the way the game is played today.

Most of your list I wouldn't consider great. And there is much more than Peterson and Sanders. W. Payton, Jim Brown, Earl Campbell, OJ Simpson, Paul Hornung, and a slew of others. I'm talking HOF type greats. Ones that can be great regardless what team you're on.

I prefer to think that Inkfreq was right and Mitch accidentally agreed with him in advance of his post.

Smart-ass

Even as a pre-post, before after-thought, I was right, sort of .. >:D
