that's ok, they went 19-0 vs those 16 playoff teams

and before some dumbass makes a stupid comment about this not being accurate because how can they have more wins than teams played, don't forget they would play their 3 division rivals twice, hence the additional 3 games. granted there is the possibility they could play a team in regular season and post-season, but do we really need to go into such intricacies about a tongue-in-cheek post???

oh, wait...too late, that's what we all do everyday on here...my bad, carry on!!!

I am pissed some of you are idiots and can't tell what actually happened. That's my problem. Surrounded by idiots and people who only look at the negative

In everyone's defense, we are all Lions fans. Not much positive to see. One playoff win since 1957. Looking at the negative is what we have grown into. I live in the Cleveland area. These fans are far more negative than Lions fans.

I wouldn't mind the negativity if people actually knew what they were talking about. They just spout generic negativity and deliberately ignore all the good things about stafford. Giving up on stafford is not only dumb but pointless given his contract.

I think with the exception of a few (mhughes, mitchrapp, etc.), most of us have not given up on Stafford because we think he can be helped with a better coach and like you point out, because of his contract. We're just disappointed in his performance down the stretch and believe it did cost us a shot at the playoffs.

They put all the negativity on one side of the scale, you put all the positivity on the other...yet the scale balances out toward the negative. Why? W v L

That is the only stat that matters. Is it fair that W-L fall onto the pitcher, especially in the AL when the pitcher doesn't even have the opportunity to bring in a run? No. Nonetheless, a pitcher is primarily judged based on W-L.

Same holds for NFL QBs. No they don't play on D, but the W-L record falls onto their shoulders. No one asks about the W-L record of any other player on the field.

Sorry LKP, you can quote every positive stat you want and place them all on the positive side of the scale. I'll put his W-L record on the other side and the scale will tilt to the negative every time, regardless of how many stats you place on the positive side.

W-L is in essence, equal to Infinity or Negative Infinity...and right now, it is on the side of Negative Infinity. Yes, we all know it is possible he can turn it around, but until he does there is not a single stat nor an infinite number of other stats that you can place on the other side that will ever tilt the scales to your side of the argument.

Period. End of story. You need to come to grips with that. Potential is NOTHING compared to reality.

Oh, and if there was a "point" to being a Lions fan, none of us would be. It has been "pointless" to be a Lions fan for generations now.

Football is more of a team sport. Dumb to give one guy a w-l record. Plenty of ls were stafford did enough to earn ws. Context is key. I have all the lions context in the world

when the fuck did I give up on Stafford? I see him for what he actually is and said 3 seasons ago hed need a new ocord cause the shit he does in the pocket wasn't getting any better with linehan. Mayhew is just 3 years behind....

Me and mitch never crowned him a top 10 qb like the rest of you.....just more people being pissed that we were right and none of you are. Paying a top 20 qb top 3 money can kill a franchise.....its the same thing ive said since the day he was drafted. You guys can keep saying If what when about him.....but the bottom line he still is only a top 20 qb getting paid top 3 money. This year he was bottom 10. Hes not improving. Not once did I ever say we should get rid of him....I think I jokingly said Houston needs a qb when someone asked if we should trade for clowney. BUt im not an idiot...you don't trade away a qb with a cap hit like that and when you have no one to replace him.

With that being said....if we win 2 games next year....ill be the first person on the Jameis Winston train.

Fine, I apologize for thinking that you said that. I must've thought that based on how negative you've been regarding him. But Mitch has said it multiple times.

Find one place where I've labelled him a top 10 QB. I agree that he's overpaid and that it was a poor extension made by the front office. But that doesn't change the fact that I think a new coach could get him to play better.

What is really sad is if Hill was playing in the last 7 games I bet we don't go 1-6 ad I bet we are hosting a playoff game this week... None of us have given up on Chosen (rich Little) Boy but he has regressed so bad the last three years it is not funny... Foot work, over throws, poor decisions, pouting, INt's, Then throw in his teammates and coaches and you have a 1-6 finish... Little Matt has to grow up and hopefully one day he will be a leader and take the Lions to a title..

The soon to be 34 year old Hill has hardly played in 3 years. Do we even know what he is capable of anymore? While I don't think Stafford played all that well, I do believe he gave the Lions the best chance to win. There were multiple failures on this team in each game, not just Stafford.

yup, said it numerous times as well....his contract is forcing our hand to try a new Ocord. But if he continues his downward spiral with the new regime as well....hes going to be gone. You cant continue to pay a guy a crippling wage like he has if hes not performing.....itd be one of the dumbest things you can do as a GM. But just to warn you guys....bringing in a new ocord is not an easy adjustment to make.....especially for someone who "doesn't get it" as a qb. What I mean by that is Stafford has been in this cushy spot for way too long and comfortable in the same offense for years.....and he still didn't perform. Now hes going into a new system .....if he was susceptible for making the wrong reads before....well ...it could be much much worse if he doesn't pick the new system up very fast. That's why I think we need whisenhunt....who has a very qb friendly system. Or Obrien who will demand you understand everything or your ass will be on the bench.

Just for the record, all I said was he's been bad. I think most agree with that. Saying a new coach could help him isn't any different than a new coach might not help him. Another hypothetical. I'll change my mind when he actually produces a couple years.

ya love how all the hypotheticals help win arguments lol:

fox wont be injured
Broyles will contribute
Pettigrew wont be as bad
we wont have as many turnovers
we will create more turnovers
dline wont be as bad

remember all those we heard this year. way to win your argument lkp!!! /clap

the reason the qb gets the w-l is because they are the field general. they can audible or otherwise change what is happening more than anyone. how often do you see stafford check to a run when they have the lead instead of throwing an incomplete pass? never.

until he learns how to manage a game like dilfer or flacco or other qbs who are not elite yet manage to win the super bowl nonetheless because they were able to manage the game and minimize the negatives, the lions have zero shot at making playoffs let alone win one.

And to clarify one more thing, if someone on the OL is struggling or a S/CB we can easily replace that player. Staff, we're stuck. We have 3 high priced players and he's the only one not performing. That's why he gets faulted more. Right or wrong, fair or not it's just the way it is.

hes proven he cant take over a game....therefor he better learn how to manage one.
