Leyland

You realize that the other managers have faced Leyland and the Tigers HUNDREDS of times combined over the last 6.75 years don't you?

To say we see more than they do is....well....

Wait, if I can't read....how the hell am I typing this?????

Take Leyland's nutsack off your chin...it's embarrassing.

Leyland is a clownshow....end of story. You don't agree. Good for you.

And a TON of people agree with me.....

He's a trainwreck out there. He's terrible with with lineups, he doesn't know how to manage a bullpen, treats the media like shit and shows zero respect for them. He's done so much garbage the last couple of years, it's maddening.

It's time to move on...

Yea he does that stuff, but most of the time he gets it right. Whatever games he has costs us with a bad move or two (though games are not one with one move or two or even three) he has made up for with moves to help us win. We win more games than we lose every year.

And I love the way he treats the media, fuck the media most of them could die and I could care less.

Most of the time? He has 162 games to get shit right, bro...lol. He looks lost as fuck out there at times. Drives me nuts and i'm not the only one. Bahhhhh, i've been calling for his head for a few years now. I just want some fresh blood.

You love the way he treats the media? C'mon, man, it's their job to poke and prod at him for his antics. The media works for US, not him. They get all the info that WE as fans deserve. They die, you don't get shit....remember that.
And don't sit there and tell me if someone was talking to you with their mouth full and food was getting all over the place, you wouldn't smack the shit out of him because you would. He's ignorant, moody and a downright fn disgusting little goblin. Kids know better than this putz....

Media is just looking for the next big negative story only. So fuck the media, except Rod we need him ;)

Nah, .060 still isn't a "very large" difference. It was just you, Einstein.

A lineup of 9 Delmon Youngs would project to score 3.873 RPG.

A lineup of 9 Alex Avilas would project to score 5.066 RPG.

But you're right, that's not a very large difference.

Oh wait, it is, and you're an idiot.

LOL....nice stat Sally. How many runs would 62 Andy Dirks score?? How bout 48 Travis Fryman's? 75.5 Deivi Cruz's?

Keep it up, in NO WAY do you come across as a butthurt little girl. It's definately NOT pathetic.

Damn Tony.....what did Leyland do....did he bang your wife or something?

Not buying it.

The fans will tear apart the first mistake the next manager makes (and every one from there). No different than now.

That's the misconception that we tear into Leyland because we've under performed. But we have good reasons. He makes too many mistakes. Or maybe I should say he makes a few mistakes but multiple times. This isn't just cause he's our manager we rip on him.

I think it's just because I expect much more out of the players. I'm always first to rip a player before the manager.

I also believe that a very talented team with a terrible manager will do better than a team full of scrubs managed by a master strategist. (Mainly in the AL)

The rest is not intended for you specifically, Mitch.

I would like to hear from anyone who the best manager in baseball is, what they would do with Boesch or Delmon, what their line-ups would look like, and how many more wins this team would have. I'm not defending Leyland at all, I'm just curious myself.

The fire Leyland talk is pointless if you don't have a replacement in mind.

I think Mike Sciossa is the best Manager in baseball....not sure how he'd handle this line-up....but I guarantee you he'd handle the bullpen 100x better.

As far as Delmon or BB, well that pretty much falls on DD. IMO anyway. BB probably should have sent down to get some away time and learn to hit again and better discipline or something.

I still think, in April, when all we had were last years numbers it should have been someone besides Delmon in the 5 hole.

Valverde, common knowledge he is bad in non-saves. There have been times when our 8 inning guy whoever it is at certain times would throw 8 pitches and instead of bringing him back out they let JV throw 30 pitches and then he's not available the following game.

Kept Raburn on the team way too long, put him in the two hole more than enough and even when he was batting .150 or .180 or whatever he was at was told he'll bat LHP only. Though against LHP he was worse this year and he still batted against RHP when Leyland said he wouldn't.

And back to Delmon. He stated in ST he was our LF. What happened to putting the best guy out there. I get tired of "he's too young to be a FT DH".

DD gives him the players but Leyland makes mistakes with them.

Anyway, as far as a replacement? I'm not sure, not sure who's out there.

Won't get an argument from me there. Watching righties tee off on Coke has been painful.

Brilliant rebuttal.

I always hear, LHS (Left Handed Specialist). You need at least 2 and they can get the good LH out late in games. Yet Coke seems to pitch more against RHB. Makes no sense.

I'll go Gardenhire.....guy is pretty damn good.

And I don't think there is a manager in baseball that would have done any better with this line-up.

The pen? Probably. Coke pitching against a RH in any crucial situation should be outlawed.

I have no problem with Valverde in non save situations IF HE NEEDS WORK.....otherwise probably better to use someone else. The Tigers have LOST one game this year by inserting Valverde in a non save situation...June 15th against Colorado....when he came into a 4-4 game in the 9th and gave up 6 runs (1 Earned). Tigers lost 12-4. So I can't argue that it's a bad idea by Leyland to put him in when he has entered 24 games in non save situations and lost exactly ONE of them.

I still haven't seen any GOOD argument made by ANY of the Leyland loyalists or haters about a better option for the 5th spot in the lineup. not one. I certainly don't have one. All his options have sucked almost all year. Peralta, Boesch, Young, Avila, Raburn, Inge.......all have been piles of shit for about 85%-95% of the year.

I would probably go Peralta at this point.....but it's pretty amazing that you can make a case for AND against any of the first 4 guys I just mentioned. You figure at least ONE of them would turn it around....but no...they all still suck pretty equally.
