Leyland's Morning Interview

If payroll mattered that much Tell me why the Cubs have not made the playoffs in ages?

Or why the Yankees don;t win the WS every year, looks st some of the high payroll teams that missed the playoffs this year.

Payroll is irrelevant, just because you pay players that amount, does not mean that's the value you get on the field. A high payroll is not a gaurantee of success.

You don't see it, nothing new.

Nothing new? You're something else, buddy...as usual.

You hear it ALL the time about how teams spend top dollar on players. Teams that do it are expected to win. You think that's a fn secret? Of course you do, what a dumb question. You think owners spend money on garbage? No, they don't.(or they think they don't) When an owner spends millions upon millions, he expects WINS and CHAMPIONSHIPS. You obviously need help in understanding that concept. Nothing new there either.

Oh, and this board cries like a bunch of whiny babies about our payroll. You know why? Because they expect results. Learn the difference about guaranteeing and expecting. It's not that hard. Oh wait.......ya.

I think most thought would we be the best team in the ALC and win the division.

We were, and did.

People thought we were going to run away with it. Stop beating around the bush. We fell assbackwards into the playoffs. WE GOT LUCKY. I'll take that, but fn admit, man...my God.
