Linehan on Broyles

broyles plays the slot....the injury happend to an outside WR.....they still didnt need him. 9 times out of 10 linehan has the slot run a 2 yd route. They already have burleson running 2 yard routes. broyles is useless hence hes inactive.

Broyles can play both. Same with burleson. Most slots run short stuff. You don't see welker going deep so much.

Staff himself calls broyles a chain mover, and is confident in his abilities. I dont blame stafford for not having faith in durham though, would you? Stafford probably still has nightmares about durhams route running abilities from last year.

Staff is probably the only reason durham has a job. Personally i wouldnt have gone into the season with Edwards and Durham as your only outside options behind CJ. #2 WR has been one of their biggest needs for years now. whatever floats your boat mayhew.

I am not going to lie Linehan sucked the second half. That play call was terrible. The first down call sucked on that series as well. They stopped running any semblance of a positive offense and its because players were not put in good situations. Should have treated that play with a big set and run a pa roll out or te slip screen. Something to get the defense moving one way and open up a few yards for the first down. We had a chance to win but coaching once again failed and players didnt step up. I think this team is much better than they showed but it shouldnt have even been close.

Problem wasn't playcall it was drops.

Dont disagree at all. Bell with three and Pettigrews drops really screwed this offense. But the playcalling was terrible and the offense was completely out of rhythm. I get them not wanting to push the ball downfield because they were trying to kill clock through most of that second half but damn they just never looked past 5 yard routes to anyone with skill.

I read something this week that said pettidrop has only been credited for 1 drop so far this year. ...laughed my ass off.

Playcall is fine, if people want to bitch it should be the overall offensive philosophy. This year they are focusing more on not turning the ball, that means less risky throws down field and more short high comp passes that result in YAC. So far the play call has been in line with that philosophy. Philosophy & play call doesn't matter if their dropping the ball.

Someone has to be blamed on the last call. If Nate was jammed, then Staff should have looked elsewhere. If no one else was open, throw it to CJ. You don't throw it to a guy who got jammed and there was no chance of a 1st down.

Found the video of the last play

Since my memory recall is shit, I was going to say that Staff probably wouldn't have had enough time to look elsewhere. But after further review, he threw the ball about 3 seconds after the snap. You can see Burleson at the bottom of the screen, he got stopped at the line and was forced to turn and run inside.

From the looks of it, the best option might have been Joique (with the big assumption that he'd catch it). Y. Bell got caught up when Durham ran inside, giving Joique a little bit of room.

But at this point it doesn't matter I guess.

Yep, in the huddle he said "I'm going to you Nate." He didn't look to anyone else..

And you're right it doesn't matter at this point.

Gotta be Stafford and Nate.

1. Nate should have won that battle.
2. I think Stafford found the matchup he liked, saw Patrick Peterson in the slot on CJ with LB help inside.....and locked on, expecting Burleson to win that matchup. He didn't. Staff should have looked elsewhere or given NB about 2 more steps before he threw.

Pwned by the honeybadger

He was that play.

Nate has 3" and 25 lbs on TM...... Gotta win the battle at the line with that kind of advantage.

But Nate is Canadian....no wonder he can't win a battle.

Jim Ross: Oh good Gawd that's Tony's music!!!

time to let it the fuck go
