By releasing Riddick, the Lions save $3.55 million in cap space. That will help absorb Daniel's contract, which is reportedly $9.1 million for 2019.

Riddick averaged a career-low 6.3 yards per catch last season and had an uncertain role in new coordinator Darrell Bevell's offense.
He caught a career-high 80 passes for 697 yards in 2015 and had at least 53 catches in each of the last three years. His 285 career receptions are 67 shy of Barry Sanders' team record for a running back.

A bit of a surprise move, but I think the Lions are going to greatly expand Kerryon’s roll in the offense.

Riddick wasn’t fast to begin with, but seemed to lose a step or two last year. I bet he’ll be fairly productive wherever he lands....but his career is quickly coming to a close.

He will sign with the Patriots and be an excellent asset . They love RB's who can catch

I was shocked we signed Daniels. I was not even the tiniest bit surprised we cut Riddick in a corresponding move. I was actually amazed he was cut in June. Kerry on catches extremely well. Maybe better than Riddick. There's just no room for Theo anymore.

They have one. Riddick would get no PT in NE....unless someone gets injured. They aren?t playing Riddick over Michael, Burkhead or White.

I can see him in NO though. He?d be behind Kamara, for sure, but would see a lot of balls in that offense.

I know it just seems like they go out and sign another receiving RB every year haha , yea he'd be a good fit for NO tho

Cutting Theo was absolutely the right move. Zenner should be cut next. Kerryon, CJ, TJ and a FB.

I'd keep Zenner until KJ can prove he can stay healthy for a full season...

Oh i have zero confidence kerryon can stay healthy... he never does. But cj and tj are still both better options than zenner.

Umm ok , he's been here 1 year . How does that equate to "he never does "

"Johnson?s injury history goes all the way back to high school, where he suffered both left and right shoulder injuries, a sprained MCL and a broken thumb. Those ailments kept building at Auburn. While in college, Johnson suffered injuries to his ribs, hamstring, ankle and, yet again, to his shoulder."

Now he only missed 4 games at Auburn his injury list is quite long.

Yea i read that info too , and posted what i did based on the fact he only missed 4 games in college ...doesnt suggest that he never stays healthy

He was sharing time with Pettway if i remember correctly his first year...then when he became the guy eventhough he didnt show up on any injury report he almost never completed a game because of his ankle and shoulder injuries.
