Lions hire Darrell Bevell as OC

At least we know if it's 2nd and short at the goal they won't run it.

Was he the one they didn’t hand off the ball to Lynch in the Super Bowl at the goal line ?
The Lions will be a run first team that is for sure. Draft oline and dline please.

To this day I still think there was some type of conspiracy against Lynch not scoring that TD. Lynch scores that TD and he's automatic MVP. Wilson throws the TD and he wins it. Lynch is a rebel who was on a contract yr I believe and Wilson is the cookie cutter golden boy QB.

I don't care if people hate the choice or not. But can we dispense with this stupid take early? Pete made that decision, he confirmed it several times.

I agree with you Tony. What a dumb decision not to hand the ball off.

Stupid? I thought I was making a joke.

Bevell made the call to throw. Pete just agreed with him, and what is he going to say?
It says he made the call for the skinny post out of the two receiver set. It says it right under his picture in the article. The coach has to back his oc or he will look weak.
On the flip side a good coached would have yelled in the headset if he wanted to win
HAND THE BALL TO the BEAST!

Btw the dumbass had a timeout. Carroll that is.

I can see that dead horse being beaten over and over before the season starts. Just dreading it already.

Maybe but nonetheless, humor is good for the soul. If we can't laugh at the Lions we're in for another long season.

Despite usually having a bad offensive line and lack luster guys at the skill positions, his offenses were in the top 10 DVOA in the NFL 4 of the last 6 seasons.

We're not going to be the Rams or Chiefs, this team is going to be a running team (with a 27 million per year QB) unless this guy was being held back for 8 years (not likely).

Hopefully the RB stays healthy. But they did have Wilson. Contrary to others is a top notch QB.

Russel Wilson makes Russel Wilson good, Stafford doesn't have his elusiveness, this hire tells me they are going to really focus on the Run game and make Stafford a game manager. IMO we'll see.

He's a retread... but atleast he's called offenses before. With success at that. He'll make kerryon a star and padford an after thought... which is probably a good thing at this point. Meh... we get like the 8th name on the list... typical.

Well, if the plan is to be a running team and ball control, get rid of Stafford whenever you can and fill the holes everywhere else. There is no reason to pay some dude 30 million a year to do the job of a backup.
