Lions lowball George Johnson Bucs sign him to 3 year offer sheet

Wrong pick is giving up. Which most of have said.

Wait and see is what I'm doing too but I know the kid has talent. He showed flashes for sure. Now he'll get the routes, timing and not to have to think so much. All rookie TEs struggle. Who cares we went 11-5.

People need to stop posting his numbers. Rookie TEs all struggle. He'll be better.

Now is when Ebron steps up and now is when we might need him more. 600-700 yards is a successful season as the 3rd option. We only need him to be the 3rd option. In the future, he might need to be the 2nd option but not with Calvin/Tate both on the roster.

Couldn't we have gotten our 37.5 YPG 3rd option in like the 4th round not the top 10?

A few years from now I think anything less than top 3 at TE is a disappointment. Considering how rare it is to pick a TE that early, you better be getting one of the best at #10. It doesn't have to be all numbers either, even a Decoybron helps the offense.

He needs to improve on his own play (like drops) and they'll have to utilize him more. With CJs health in question and no real threat past Tate (as of now), Ebron should have plenty of opportunities to prove himself.

Brewer, don't you dare suggest that Ebron is more of a WR than TE. You'll get screamed at.

Ebron clearly has more potential than that. But that is all we need him to do. Clearly as a rookie you shouldn't expect much for a TE.

What is the minimum production he should have to justify his draft position? And please don't just say 11-5 again. The team winning games does not inherently imply all picks and decisions were great. The only two TEs drafted in the top 10 within the last 10 years are Vernon Davis and Eric Ebron. Davis has been considered overdrafted much of his career, but he still managed a couple pro bowls and I believe an all-pro selection.

I'm not sure Davis has justified his own draft position so far, but it's at least arguable. What should Ebron have to accomplish to avoid a description as "the wrong pick"?

600-700 yards and 5 TDS would justify it next year and every year until Calvin is gone. We only need him to be the 3rd option right now. We added a good prospect. That is right around his value at the time (10-15).

OBJ was a number 1 option due to injury on a bad team. I don't care about his stats.

The best player available with that 10 pick was Donald and everyone except Mayhew knew it.

Ebron doesn't have to be Jimmy Graham. We've got Calvin and Tate. Saints didn't have that so had to feed Jimmy.

saints had colston, sproles for many years, and quality back ups like devery Henderson, stills, meachem, cooks, and lance moore over the years. Jimmy Graham still put up huge numbers.

Again...its not all on mayhew. Stafford has never made anyone better. y2EE will never be any good if Stafford cant figure out how to get off his first 2 reads.

I don't know why, but I recall feeling like Donald was a bit small to play DT in the NFl at 6'1" 285lbs. Wasn't sure he could put on the extra muscle to really penetrate, or that he wouldn't be beat on blocks at the point.

Not that he was a major midget or anything, just nothing about him said top 10 pick to me. Not his resume, which was really not impressive prior to his final season. Not his medical history, which already had a knee injury on it.

Just not much. And yet, the kid was a beast in the NFL his rookie year and really impressed. I just wouldn't have taken him with a Top 10 pick either.

Was wondering when you were going to blame Stafford for EE's shortcomings. Took a while...lol. Smh

Calvin is a fast tight end he just plays wideout.

Holy shit! You're right!! He almost has the size of one (TE) too!! Most TEs are big/tall, Calvin is big/tall. Most TEs weigh more, Calvin is heavier than most WRs. There you have it!! I'm sold!! Calvin Johnson is a super fast/hybrid TE. I was wrong all along....shame on me.

Baaaaaaahahahahahahaaaaaahahaaahahaahahaaaaa!

Ya and stafford still plays 7th grade qb that locks onto 1 wr then gets happy feet and freaks the fuck out when that guy is covered.

Most had him ahead of Ebron. I wanted him bad but knew the Lions were gonna screw it up and take Ebron and this year with Gurley or Gordon. Neither one will do poop unless we get a couple of starters on OLine after one of them, not to mention we need Dline and a corner.
That #10 really screwed this team for 2015 as it rears its ugly head following Suh and Fairly bolting.

No he doesn't. But you're not very bright anyways. Tate had a huge year, but you'd rather see the ball go to Fuller or Ross all day, right? Seriously STFU. You're the same guy that cries when Stafford throws to his RBs and TEs on short routes. The man can never do no right in your eyes. You're pathetic.
