Lions place quarterback Matthew Stafford on Injured Reserved

I haven't mentioned a thing about him this season. I know he played well. Last season yeah, he was terrible. Now wanting to trade him or draft another QB isn't hate its "we're not winning with him, try something new kind of thing". Or have insurance. That's all.

Mitch you have put almost all the blame on Stafford including earlier this year.

And the QB shouldn?t get all the blame.

Say he passes for 400 yards and 3 TD passes but throws an interception with a minute left and they lose. What about no pass rush or suck ass linebackers or suck DB allowing a 50/60 yard pass for other team to take the lead. You guys blame Stafford.

fair or not, that's how it is with the QB position. When the team wins the QB is the hero and gets the credit for "leading his team", and when they lose, the QB gets the blame.

Look at Tom Brady. He gets the title of "GOAT" because he has 6 SB titles, but statistically, he isn't the best QB ever...he isn't even the best of this era.

Well if that did happen yes I would blame Matt but not alone. Everyone understands this team is bad. The defense leads the pack. But lets say Arizona did get that INT at the end of the game are you saying he shouldn't get some blame for that. I think the diff. is when Matt messes up and we say "You stupid son of .. what?" That doesn't mean we're blaming him 100%.

And Tom eluded to something if Matt throws a 10 yard pass but the WR runs it 40 yards Matt (the QB) is the hero.

And what about the other side when others say "he's elite" regardless what he does.

And lastly it's sports. Blaming a player or a coach is part of the game. Back in the day I loved Harrington, others thought he was junk (they become right) but the point remains who wants everyone to agree. We all see the game differently. Your opinion is just different, doesn't mean right or wrong just different. And that should be okay. And the Lions are different because they haven't given us anything in over 60 years out of a select few players that were fun to watch.
