Lions Re-Sign Raiola 1 year Deal

you guys are very concerned about a backup center lol. That's like # 190 on my list of things im concerned about on this team.

For once, i agree with you. DB, WR, DE, and even LB should be draft priorities. Bring in a C as an UDFA and see if you can find a prospect for the future.

Jones they can keep this year and get young back. Depends if new staff likes those guys and they fit new d

If Dom get's hurt, we need someone who can step in and not be horrid... granted, the replacement would not be making assignment calls if that happens (wonder who would?), but betting on some UDFA scrub to be capable is a big stretch (look at WR play lat year... you want that kind of ability in the center of Stafford's protection?!?). Sure, Dom has been very durable over his career, but the guy is pushing 40! Do you really want to bet he plays every game again this year? Neither do I.

Last year, they spent money on a veteran back-up that cost them $1-2 million against the cap, which they simply cannot afford to do again this year. Also, by looking at center in the 4th round, you are likely looking at guys who are close to 1st tier prospects at their position, as opposed to probably 3rd (or even 4th) tier WR's, CB's, S's, LB's, etc. It seems to me that we should at least be considering it in the 4th. JMO

EDIT---------------------
"close to first tier prospects" is an overstatement regarding 4th round centers, sorry about that. More accurate would probably be solid 2nd tier prospects.
