Lions Retain Accorsi

It was posted in the Quinn thread but you can be advisor for 3 teams? No wonder he recommends Caldwell.

Ahh, didn't see it there.

An advisor is just that, a consultant... no harm in offering your advice to multiple teams. It's not like he has a job with the team every day. He's on retainer to be there when Wood has questions.

Wood picks his brain, Accorsi won't offer competitive advice.

IMO, and I know nothing what an advisor does but doesn't talking to Quinn about Caldwell a bit , I don't know a bit something?

Not at all. I often work as a consultant for competing companies. I come in, I give my advice at to network infrastructure and storage (etc...) and I always have an NDA. I don't discuss with anyone what their competition does.

Accorsi might say "Hey, I like Caldwell" or "I'd get rid of him"... but it's not like he's firing a guy in Detroit knowing a job for the same guy in New York will open up.

Before he kicked that ball, in my empty house I said out loud,

"He's going to shank it."

WOW.

Sorry about the thread derailment lol.

Damn man. Go to the general thread. That's what it's there for.

Eh, I had this link open and didn't feel like moving. Not much that can be said about this thread. They retained a special advisor. That's about as far as we can go with it.

Probably irrelevant, but

Ernie Accorsi's advisory job with Lions is part time. He will remain in NY, help Lions over phone, contribute in that way however he can.

No need to browse ESPN anymore.. I'll just wait until you update us Grandy. You seem to be more in the know.

Don't really understand why. You just hired a president and a gm and you need them to have an advisor? Why not just hire 2 guys that don't need an advisor?

Accorsi is only part time so I guess they need one more to complete it.

Why did Carolina and New York retain him?

Last time I checked, Carolina seems to be doing pretty well, right?

Having a paid advisor on speed dial is never a bad thing in business.

Our president managed a half dozen retirement communities, that's why.

Right. On top of that he said Quinn will handle salary cap. Like the guy won't have enough on his plate.

And the Giants have been to the playoffs once in 7 years and just fired their coach. What's the point?

I understand having an advisor to find a gm. ...i just don't understand having one once you have a team in place.

Maybe he's diddling Martha's dustbin, ever think of that Hughes, huh?
