Lions Retain Accorsi

And the bitching continues. But whhhhyyyyyy? But but but........shhuuuuuuuuuuudup!

And the Giants have been to the playoffs once in 7 years and just fired their coach. What's the point?

I understand having an advisor to find a gm. ...i just don't understand having one once you have a team in place.

Ever heard "two heads are better than one"?

Or if you prefer "Getting head twice is better than once"?

Advisors/consultants are hired to fix current fuck ups. The only reason to keep him is to train wood. But that's basically admitting the guy has no clue at this point.

Clearly you have never hired a consultant or worked as one. That is not even close to the case. By a long shot.

Yes....I was flown from Michigan 3500 miles to san diego to fix a gym.

My company...coca cola....hired a 3rd party consultant to fix their safety opportunities.

The Lions hired accorsi to fix their fucked up GM/president situation.

You keep consultants on when youre not ready to handle it yourself. Otherwise...its just a waste of money.

Again, you are dead wrong.

Consultants are people who CAN fix problems. They are often people who get relied on to make sure problems don't happen. And in a great number of cases, they are paid a retainer (like Accosi was) to answer questions when they arise.

It's a lot like paying an attorney a retainer. You give him $5K upfront, and then when you need him, he bills his hours against the paid retainer. Now if you need an attorney to answer legal questions, you don't have to worry about him saying "Sorry, I have a full client list, no room for anyone else"... tough titties Mr. Legal Beagle, you done been paid.

Same with Accorsi. If Wood has any questions he is wondering about... salary cap loopholes, player bonuses, cuts.. things he may need clarification on, Accorsi is there to answer the phone and doesn't get to say "Oh, I can't tell you any of that, I'm tied up with fishing today".

That's was a retainer does. He is NOT an employee of the Lions. He is a private consultant on retainer.

The team probably spends more filling it's vending machines in the locker room every year than they paid Ernie. It doesn't count against team salaries, payrolls, the cap... so what do you care how they choose to shell out a few thousand bucks in a multi-million (billion?) dollar business?

Did you forget who you're talking to, Ink? For shame....

I think you nailed the source of Tony's anger.
