Lions=Seattle D

But let us not forget that Ngata is as good as Suh :lmao:

Suh has two legs, Nagata has two legs.

Ngata is better in run D. Ngata is a good pass rusher. Lions upgrade at DE, DT 2-4 and LB blitzing. Lions pass rush is better in 2015.

Wilson had 2 less passing TDs than Stafford did. Only 452 attempts.

Seattle has a good run game. 20 rushing TDs and Lynch hopped up on skittles. They could have 4 grandmas at WR with that run game and defense. They don't rely on Wilson to throw it. Lions offense is Stafford slinging it. And considering the down and distance from the run game sucking, bad proteciton no number 3 or 4 weapon, Calvin out 5 and penatlies, Stafford did a great job.

Lions have a more complete and better offense. And Lions play better defense. 11 wins for Stafford.

Seattle can't pass protect healthy. Detroit can when healthy. Wilson can run. That is not sustainable. He'll get RG3ed soon. Someone will take his head off or take out his knee.

But 4 More rushing TDs. So Wilson had 26 TDs while Stafford had 24.
Or does Rushing TDs not matter again because it doesn't apply to this "point" you are making.

Bottom line, you don't lose your franchise defensive player and become better. It doesn't happen.

You do if you gain an all pro like Ngata and upgrde DT 2-4, DEs (year 2 in system), MLB (Tulloch back), SAM (Whitehead and Van Noy) and nickels with a good complete secondary.

This defense is better in 2015 than 2014.

Stafford leads the offense. Lynch leads their offense. That is the point.

Wilson running is not sustainable.

3-4 is not a 4-3. Anyone who thinks it's a smooth as butter transition is an idiot.

And Matt doesn't lead jack shit. He's horrible..wouldn't bat an eye if they released him right now. Let end zone Dan fail for a year, get a high draft pick..new QB.

LKP, you don't. Sorry. There's no arguing otherwise. It's not an opinion. You don't lose your top player on that side of the ball and miraculously get better, especially when you had the #2 ranked defense.

If they finish in the top 10, i'll be happy. They won't duplicate what they did last year, not possible.

When you add Ngata and upgrade all over the defense and move into year 2 of the system, then, yes you get better.

They are slam dunk top 5 defense still. It's very possible to better than what they did last year. We have the talent.

Lkps entire point is that they rely on the run game....yet wilson has only 2 less tds than him. Just more proof stafford can't get it done.

They rely on the run game to move the ball. Stafford get's it done. 11 wins and Stafford is the one who moves the ball.

The point is Wilson doesn't move the ball passing. And in the redzone they are scared of Lynch and Wilson running that it opens up the pass. Wilson has it easier in the redzone. They play Calvin with two gunners and play the pass first.

Wilson with the Lions run game. He'd be Geno Smith.

I would not be so quick to point that out. If Jones can get healthy and Webster / Walker is as good as they are saying, we are better and deeper. No one is gonna run well on us with Ngata and Ansah so were as good if not better there than with Fairley, Suh. I'm more curious to see how it will look with no double teamed Suh. You may be right right though, time will tell. My initial thought is we may realize how great Suh was when he is not there, much like when Nick Lidstrom retired... you know what I mean? We knew Lidstrom was great but it really was magnified when he was gone. I hope this is not the case with Suh but reality tells me Ngata is no Suh so hopefully depth will compensate.

Hard to argue really.

Jones brings it home with “we can’t really answer those questions about how good we are until we get on the field and play.”

I'm excited, this D is fast, tough, and well coached. Slay may be the best player on the D

Agreed we'll see on the field but you can be optimistic with the pieces we have.

I said it before, if you just saw this D on paper and had no idea who Suh was, you would say on paper this a very good defense.

Suh is just too good of a D lineman to be replaced. Ngata has had a fantastic career, but he's starting to enter the twilight.

Ngata had a fanstastic 2014. He's still a beast. Mayhew said yesterday that Dlinemen and OLinemen play better longer than WRs/RBs/DBs. Many HOF DT players played well in their 30s. I'm excited to see Ngata in this scheme. he will take many doubles opening things up for the DEs and other DT. Also, he is a good run defender. the pass rush improvement comes from DT 2-4, blitzing and DES. Ngata is still a good pass rusher too. Not elite like Suh, but good.

Ngata is a stud. Ansah is a stud and better in year 3. Year 2 has to help Webster and Reid plus the physical changes they made. Jones is a good run defender and did have 5 sacks. he will still see single blocking. Walker matched Fairley's production in similar snaps.
