Detroit Lions Breakdown Podcast Episode #114: Training Camp Preview. 54 minutes.

It has been roughly seven months since the Lions last suited up for a football game, and even though the NFL did provide teases through the draft and mini-camps we here at the Detroit Lions Breakdown Podcast have been patiently waiting for football to return? it finally has. Erik and Joe spend this week chatting about training camp.

TE Austin Traylor makes a total of 90 in camp.

Trey Flowers, Steve Longa and Tommylee Lewis open on the PUP list.

Chris Lacy was placed, then removed from the PUP.

Austin Bryant, PJ Johnson, John Atkins and Ryan Pope were on, then removed, from the NFI list.

Thursday?s first training camp practice is open to the public.

August 2nd = Family Fest practice at Ford Field.

Discussion of Erik?s article: 10 things to know if you?re heading to training camp.

What to note at training camp, is it a red-flag, or meaningless.

Erik dispells national narratives.

Drew Rosenhaus was in town and speaking with the team regarding extensions for Damon Harrison and Darius Slay.

Harrison and Slay have both reported to training camp without missing any time.

Matthew Stafford, Danny Amendola and Marvin Jones found themselves throwing this past week in California.

Who will be the left guard.

Ricky Jean Francois met with the Lions, could he be returning?

The massive improvements on defense were due to fundamentals, including a top-5 ranking in tackling efficiency and the No. 1 PFF rating in YAC allowed.

Special thanks to Max Air RT, Shawn Sweeney, TJMaz40 and Jared R a Lions fan for their 5-star reviews!

I think all the teams opened to camp today right?

We’re local news stories here in Los Angeles about the Chargers and the Rams.

I checked NFL.com and looks like teams have different start dates.
Rookies start earlier than veterans and some teams open up before
the Lions and a few later.

Darius Slay says everyone knows he?s underpaid.
He?s not wrong.

Darius Slay ended his holdout this week, reporting to Detroit Lions training camp before Thursday?s opening practice. Although he did not participate in Day 1 after being placed on the Non-Football Injury list, he did spend a little time with the media after practice.

Slay chose the high road when asked specifically about the holdout, choosing to say, ?no comment? to questions like: Did you consider holding out into training camp? Are you disappointed a deal was not reached? Did the team promise anything in the future?

But when it came to his current compensation amount, Slay was quick to agree with a reporter that suggested he was getting underpaid.

?Everybody in the world knows,? Slay replied according to MLive.com.

But now that the ordeal is over, Slay is ready to put the dispute behind him and play at a high level once again.

?It won?t impact nothing,? Slay said. ?I?m going out there to dominate. I come out, I play for the name on the back of my jersey and this organization and my teammates. So nothing?s going to stop me from what I?m going to do on the field.?
