Lions Working Hard With Avril

SLICK said:
eating up almost 11 million in cap is a fucking joke for Avril.
At this point, does it matter? Who are they spending that money on now? They have enough space to sign Tulloch today if they wanted. It would've been nice to have that space when they could've had Finnegan or Carr.

Still, it'd be nice if they found a trade partner. That won't happen until the draft gets closer.

Tracey Porter, Demetrius Bell and Laron Landry would be a start. But i agree he wont be traded til its closer or on draft day if at all.

Bell? They just re-signed Backus.

Forgot about Porter. That'd be a huge upgrade if Avril got shipped out or Tulloch gets paid somewhere else. But they haven't shown any interest in corners so far (other than Jacob Lacey).

Landry will come on a cheap, one year deal. They should be able to fit him and Tulloch in.

I'd even love them to have the chance to take a run at Michael Bush.
Yeah, I wonder why his market is developing so slowly. Denver could throw some money at him though. They need more than just McGahee with Manning in the fold.

Guess that cap space could still be pretty useful.

Backus has no Pec at the moment lol. And we still have Goz. IFFF Backus is healthy you can move one of them to the right side.

how much does Wimbley's recent signing of 5yrs $35 Mill affect Cliff?? Titans will play him at DE

You'd have to think it would effect the talks at least some. Wimbley was one of the better rushers in the league last season, and he got $7M a year roughly. That would seem to set a benchmark for a long term deal with Avril.
