Lombardi

This offense makes me sick to my stomach. When you have the number one defense you're supposed to cruise to easy wins yet the team has not had a comfortable win since opening day. Inexcusable with the amount of points the defense had been giving up. You shouldn't need last second heroics every week when the other team has only tallied 13 points. This team is such a disappointment. We will likely make the playoffs but there is no chance whatsoever for them to beat anyone or get on any kind of lucky roll. We got a glimpse of how they look against the teams that will be in that tournament and we couldn't score a single td and were dominated in every aspect of the game. Can't even look forward to the draft either. I hate this team

Well, Lombardi finally figured out that he needed to call some quick pass plays and our offense looked much better. Granted, it against the Bears, but it's good to see him make that adjustment after 11 games.

agree...although he does need to do it more often to Riddick imo. Hes a mismatch whenever he has 1 v1 and a lb on him....only drawing something up for him 2-3 times a game is a mistake.

We played great against the bears no doubt about it....but the flexibility of the offense still showed. I just don't understand why he tried to pound 8 man fronts and throw vs 5 man fronts.

Everyone said wait 4 years..any time someone gets drafted wait 4 years they stay, well it's been 6 years - 4 full. The verdict is in, Matt Stafford is a bust and sucks.

The Bears disagree.

Hope they keep the momentum the next three weeks.

Just beat 3 more shitty teams a row and go in to GB at 11-5 and see what happens... Maybe Matt gets his first win verses a team over .500 on the road...

There was better play design today, but I think the credit goes to Stafford in this one. He was throwing BULLETS out there. I think the Tigers should add him to their bullpen. That's who he is. These slow developing routes they were running the first 2/3 of the year do not play to his strengths. Today's game plan was much better suited, and no. 9 took advantage...

The quick plays kept Stafford on his feet and put the ball in the play makers hands. Opened up the longer developing plays. We looked good.

Do I have to be negative guy here ;-) Matt is never been consistent, I fully expect him to do a full rewind next game. Also, we did what NE did the previous week or I should say Chicago did what we did against NE, played a zone. I'm not sure why but nonetheless Matt made some good throws ..

So you expect his to "do a full rewind" against the Bucs next week? How about the Vikings the following week? If Lombardi continues his playcalling from yesterday, I expect Stafford to continue to play well.

I dont expect tbs defense to play as poorly as chi defense did yesterday. And considering matt has had 2 good games this year I cant imagine the expectation would be he has another huge day. What he has going for him is lovie will play zone...but their players are better than the bears at every facet on the defense.

"Full rewind" is probably alot harsh....we wont see the dline/secondary combination the likes of ari and ne again this regular season.

the play calling seemed to improve, they did a good job eliminating touch throws.
They played into Matts strength, the hard ball. They didn't ask him to go out of his comfort zone, just thrown the ball hard to the open guy. Matt was seeing the open guy which was great on his part.
Maybe it took Joe 11 weeks to realize Matt doesn't have Bree's skill set. I think you have to coach based on the layers you have not try and force them into a system. Or it could be it was the Bears and they simple just suck. But I thought I saw some things that gives me a bit more hope going forward this year.

Maybe he finally reviewed what worked well in the past and decided to go with that... though it didn't look that way in the 1st quarter...sooooo.....
