Lovie gone ..

Seeing he already named Marinelli his DC I am glad we didnt sign Lovie.

hmmm late espn just said they think leslie frazier will be the DC. either way ....I didn't really want him here.

Funny tidbit is espn was talking that lovie probably picked bucs over lions cause lovie will be able to coordinate/communicate his needs to the new GM...whereas Detroit he wouldn't have much of a voice. Sounded like speculation more than anything else but its a small shot at mayhew.

I think Wisenhunt is a solid choice, but I am also leaning toward hoping for Jim Caldwell.

Not a big fan of either Gruden name. Don't think we can land David Shaw. Don't really want Brian Kelly. Can't even handle thinking about the reports of Tom Cable... like ah hell naw!

I live in Indiana and anyone who wants Jim Caldwell needs to be examined. He is a bum and was just following Dungy's success. He is a terrible HC and even worse OC. Sean Payton ran circles around him in the Super Bowl. Dude was overwhelmed like no coach I had ever seen.

Agree, Baltimore isn't known for their offense, Caldwell would be a terrible choice

I see your Caldwell and raise you a Schwartz.

Andy Dalton has averaged 30 tds and a better than 60% completion percentage since Gruden took over. I think he would work well with Stafford. Cincy's offense is similar to ours in its wr-rb set up as well.

Dalton had more picks than Stafford though in less throws. Less drop rate than Stafford too but only 61%. So with Staffords drop rate, he's below Stafford in comp %. Stafford had 31 Tds scored this year too.

Stafford has more talent than Dalton. He's getting a lot out of a little. That's my point.

Stafford produced similar if not more than Dalton. So therefore, in your words, "a lot" of production. Stafford can do more sure and I agree he is more talented. We'll see if a new coach can get more out of him than Linehan could. We'll see if the new coach or OC can reduce the turnovers which is the big one with Stafford.

It will be real bad news of us all if Stafford/the offense and Bush are just turnover prone no matter who is the coach. We'll see if the new coach gets a defense that forces a few more turnovers and short fields to make life easier for Stafford and if Stafford can take advantage of those turnovers. And we'll see if Mayhew can finally land that second WR, who can get separation in single coverage to make life easier for Stafford.

All your posts are making sense to me today...is this like a New Year's resolution or something?

I've always posted this way. The good and the bad. I've never said Stafford was elite or didn't need to do more. I do post factual positive things when arguing people who post only negative things. And people seem to only focus on the positive things I say. I don't have to repost the negative factual things. They were already said. Sometimes specific, but many times just generic things against Stafford and the coaching staff.

If I say other people were at fault, I'm not dismissing Stafford completely. it's not either or. It can be both. Stafford can make mistakes and still play well enough to win IMO. There are plays to blame him. Not as many as people assume, but there are enough to see Stafford needs improvement too.

Basically all I am saying, if Stafford makes the same amount of plays he made in 2013 in 2014, but we have a better WR2 or TE (or get more short fields from turnovers), the Lions can win alot of games and make the playoffs and maybe make some noise.

There is room for Stafford improvement, but he does enough right now. 31 TDs in 16 games is not something to take lightly even with his 19 ints. Especially given only 22 turnovers forced.
