Marty Trying To Get Up To get Barron

Little depth? KVB, Willie young, and LoJack? Thats a lot of depth. Draft someone later and groom him as your 4th DE. And you have to factor in the money. Avril is a quality starter who is costing a lot of money, and they are struggling to sign him long-term.

Anyways, I doubt they'd flip Avril just to move up. They'd need more. But its not unrealistic IMO

The Avril hate has gone to ridiculous proportions. You instantly turn DE into a weakness. A 3 man rotation with a 35 year old, a seventh rounder, and a Cast Away is not depth.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news..but you cant really dangle avril when hes not under contract. If we move up that far you can can go ahead and turn your tv off the rest of the weekend as far as the lions are concerned.

They're not going to give up all their picks for 10-12 picks.

Its not about what Avril does on the field. He doesn't want to accept a reasonable deal. If you don't want to pay him $12-$13 million a year, or tag him every year, he's walking. And then you get nothing.

You MUST factor money into it.

And, actually, read some scouting reports. LoJack and Young were just as effective rushing the passer. Avril simply played A LOT more. And those two DEs are better against the run. And, most importantly, MUCH CHEAPER.

You re-sign Avril, you lose LoJack for sure. And probably SLH. Can't bring back everyone.

Good point. Forgot about that.

Personally, If I could trade Avril for something and use LoJack and Young at DE, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

A 250 pound situational pass rusher is better against the run? Link?

Mark Barron - DB - Player

Alabama S Mark Barron says the Lions called to confirm his contact information on Thursday.

It's a purely procedural move teams make with any number of players, but is still notable nonetheless. The Lions have been strongly linked to one of the draft's most ascendant players, but could have to trade up as many as 12 spots from No. 23 to ensure landing him. It's unlikely to happen.

There isn't a link for it. It was completely made up....

As for LoJack and Young being "just as good" as Avril is a complete fn joke. The shit people make up on these boards is astonishing.

I know for me I didn't say they were better just that I'd be fine with them and Avril could be traded for another need or high draft pick.
