Mayhew returns to draft reigns in 2014

After a year of making sense drafting early in 2013....mayhew snatches the reigns back from Xanders in 2014 and commences operation pick a wr every single year. Sammy watkins rd 1. The good news is we pick 12 so we win about 6 games in 2013.

nope he helped ruin my favorite team under millen for years then he took the reigns and did the same things millen did. Poor drafts with multiple high round picks at the same position...very few of them working out. Sat on his ass in free agency for years cause he thought his team was talented when in actuality they got lucky 1 year. Theres 2 very reasonable things that show how shitty of a GM mayhew is:

1) Shack Harris still has a job

2) Wendling started multiple games for us in 2012

either 1 of those things should get a GM fired on any given year....he did both in the same year. Throw in the fact that he pisses picks away every year and poof....you have a shitty product that wins 4 games. why would showing me a list of players he could have drafted this year in the fourth round be any help. They havent played a down in the NFL they could all be shit. He has helped rebuild this team from the shit show under millen. So what its called building depth at certain positions. If Titus doesnt go crazy and we have a healthy broyles best leshoure and burleson this offense would be incredible. With best and burleson alone with CJ they were potent as hell. Not every move a team makes will work. And you are a blithering idiot if you dont agree with that. Most people thought this team was on their way last year until we were racked with injury stop being a moron take off your douche colored glasses and see where this team goes. You realize Wendling started because Delmas and Carey got hurt in training camp. Spievey was struggling forget if he got hurt too. And he also had a great camp. I believe the coaches control the depth chart as well.

The Xanders higher is a big thing. I said it at the time he is a great guy to have in that room but Mayhew has to say that it wasnt Xanders because then why would he have a job. We grabbed value and needs this year and I think were among the best at working this draft. This draft has good value into the fourth round and we grabbed athletes and starters in 3 or 4 rounds. This is a big deal.

i was asked by motown to make a list of players we should have drafted....i simply obliged. A good GM realizes years ago that his oline sucks, the avril drama was going to end with him not being here, you had no secondary depth and KVB was on a downward spiral. Instead of reacting to those pertinent needs we continue to draft 2nd rd 4th string WRs. Just hasnt made any sense to me. He did a good job this off season...hopefully its not to late and translates into some wins. I still think our depth is weak and were relying too much on unproven guys....so its going to all be on stafford to have a monster season if were going to end up with more than 8 wins.

I believe MM is a little in over his head but I think he had a pretty good draft because he got help this year. I also assume he will get more help next year if he is still around which chances are pretty good he is. The main issue, assuming the draft picks work out, is gonna be cap space. You eventually are gonna have to pay for those contract re-works. Additionally, this was not a 4 win team last year but probably more like a 7 to 8 win team. There were to many distractions and injuries. Not an excuse but more of a reality. This team could and should win 10 games this year but everything has to go perfect, injuries, draft picks, and picking up a starting LT. I hope they can grab a guy like Moore from Jacksonville because if they do not, it is going to be a long year with Hill at QB.
