Is there some way they don't suck next year anyway? If the team doesn't find several gems in the draft, is there a way they don't suck the year after? There aren't enough good players on the team for it to matter who we trade outside of guys like Larkin, AA, and maybe Mantha.

Exactly, we already suck and need a bunch of pieces. That's why I wish they would have traded for picks, prospects and cap space.

Because you have to fill a team. Not sure Larkin, AA, and Mantha plus 20 draft picks work. Take out the old guys who make too much money, thus non trade-able. Add in the guys who have no value at all.

I regress I'd add in Burtuzzi, FRK & of course Zetterberg. Let him retire as a Red Wing.

Frk is nothing special.

He's got a powerful shot with no accuracy. That's about it. His compete, skating, passing seem sub-par for NHL. Granted, playing 10 minutes a night isn't much time to show off your skill.

To me he is a less skilled Pulkkinen.

Well.... can't get rid of everyone when you have so many bad contracts and NMCs. Is like Holland learned nothing of the post Quinn Leafs.

Recall there was 2 seasons when Holland was looking to trade Howard.

Even dumping Ouellet woudn't be a bad move. He hasn't been a complete turnover machine like last year but thats probably cause I recall watching him so little. To be honest, would have preferred to keep Sproul over XO.

While easier said than done, the biggest blunder was not obtaining a #1 D-man when it was clear Lidstrom's career was coming to an end.

Now, combine that with his Michigan and veteran fetishes....

More recent giving big contracts and NTCs to players who probably don't deserve it.
