That's good. I read a couple places Schotts would be a tough sign.

Both Tigers 2nd rd pick Jake Thompson and 3rd rd pick Austin Schotts will head to Lakeland Tuesday where they'll sign their contracts.

How Tigers qualify for Competitive Balance Lottery.
from Jason Beck's Tigers blog

One upshot of picks awarded in competitive balance lottery: They're tradeable, starting Thursday. Like an extra prospect for teams to deal.

Tigers win a pick at end of second round in next year's draft thanks to competitive balance lottery. Potentially big chip in trade talks.
more to follow.

All added up, a "B" round pick in 2013= about a mid 2nd round pick in 2012. Reduced No of comp picks after 1st round.
Tigerdog1

Comp Round B order: 1. Padres; 2. Indians; 3. Rockies; 4. Athletics; 5. Brewers; 6. Tigers

Tigers Awarded Pick In Competitive Lottery.
from TigsTown

The Tigers were awarded the sixth pick in Round B in the Competitive Balance Lottery on Wednesday. The pick will come after the second round of the 2013 draft and is eligible to be traded this year. While the draft order isn't finalized, the pick will be around 75th overall.

So we are basically talking about a player that would be good enough to get a 750K bonus with the new draft pick slotting.
