MLB 2012 Draft June 4

Haha, too early to tell for either.

But Bundy has gotten off to an absolutely unreal start.

Yeah, but it all matters when they get to the majors. I'm interested to see how those pitchers develop from last years draft.

Shame the Tigers couldn't have signed Appel when they drafted him.

There was a good amount of top 100 kids this draft that had been previously drafted by the Tigers. It shows that our scouts have a pretty good eye for talent, it's our development system that needs work. How many high ceiling guys have we drafted that have flamed out?

A lot of our high ceiling guys also have low floors.

Those type of players pretty much always flame out.

Our minors are littered with players who have high ceilings, but don't walk and strike out a lot.

Only so much a development system can do with players like that.

Have we found the Next Charlie Gehringer yet !!! Charlie G. only struck-out 372 times in 10,244 plate appearances, and 8,860 at bats. Pretty damn fantastic in any era...

and we drafted another right-handed power arm out of high school, Jake Thompson from Texas. I know that with the baseball draft you never draft for need and only draft talent, but still...do we REALLY need another righty power arm in our system?

Its hard to draft on need when baseball players take 3-4 years to develop. Needs could change by then.

Tigers select LHP Joe Rogers in the fifth round MLBDRAFT. Rogers was the closer for UCF this season.

Joe Rogers (LHP) - FB 88-91, touches 93, CB has plus potential and some feel for CH, throws strikes, could try as SP.
Mark at TigsTown

dumbasses should have drafted Preston Beck.
stupid shytheads, tampa took him 2 picks later,

Tigers 6th round;
Jordan John (RHP) - Below-average velocity, pitch ability lefty, CB, SL, CH, mixes well, confuses hitters.
