QUESTION OF THE WEEK.
Totally Tigers

It?s time again to hear from our readers! Today is the day to let us know what you?re thinking on a selected topic.
Sunday is the one day of the week where we open up the comment parameters for you, so you can get those juices flowing.
Comments on THIS DAY ONLY can be expanded to a maximum of 8 sentences.
We can?t wait to get your thoughts on the following topic.

The New York Yankees have won 27 World Championships, far and away the most in the history of the game. They are perhaps the most hated MLB franchise as they have a history of spending more than any other baseball team in the hopes of winning a World Series every single year.

But they haven?t won a title since 2009, which is a long time for a franchise which routinely spends the most and also has been able to stock their minor leagues with immense talent.

Routinely, the Yankees have been able to assemble some of the greatest offensive talent in all of baseball, as their lineups have included many of the greatest hitters in the league. They have also spent huge amounts of money to sign starting pitchers, in the hopes they will be the final pieces in pushing them over the hump.

On Saturday night, the Yankees, behind their ace, Gerrit Cole, lost a 2-1 game that eliminated them from the 2020 playoffs. Cole is in the first season of a 9-year contract that pays him $36M a year. And yet, they lost to a Tampa Bay Rays team whose collective roster earned just under $29M in 2020.

With all of that, the Yanks haven?t won a championship in 11 years. So it begs a question.
How are the NY Yankees emblematic of how difficult it is to win a championship?

ALL of the Tigers postseason success in the 21st century has come from defeating the A's and Yankees 3x each, the other 5 ballclubs whom they played soundly defeated the Tigers via sweep (Orioles and Giants) or in less than the max 7 games. (Cardinals, Rangers, and Red Sox)

COLUMBUS DAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

For today?s holiday, it?s a good time to gauge the pulse of our readers regarding the ALCS.
It was a polarizing American League Division Series round as the Astros advanced to the ALCS and the Yankees didn?t; 2 teams who bring out so much emotion among baseball fans.
So it certainly begs a question and we will pose it to you in the form of a survey for this Columbus Day. We are anxious to see the results of this one.
As always, we welcome your comments, so please vote and then submit your reasons (4 sentences max!) for how you voted in the usual comment box. Don?t forget to come back later and view the results!

Which team would you have rather seen advance to the ALCS ? the Yankees or the Astros?
1. New York Yankees
2. Houston Astros
3. Not sure.
Vote.

TB up 3-0 over Houston. Atlanta up 2-0 over LA. I'd be okay with that match up.
