MSU basketball at 6-1

Henry?s bad seems really bad to me. To your point when he?s not playing well he looks lost as opposed to struggling to get going.

It is bad but I think he is going to be a good player - maybe a poor mans dawson, little better on offense but not a lick down defender. Kithier just blows

Every time Henry does something great he seems to do something incredibly stupid and unforced. The potential is there he just needs to bring more consistency.

Good road win especially after Illinois got the one yesterday. The team defended hard all game long and that kept Minnesota from being able to put any kind of run together to get back into the game.

Defense was great all game. Henry shit down Carr, have him fits. Offense was choppy, but defense was consistent all game long and we out toughed Minny.

Very good road win, should be 8-2 at the halfway point with Nebraska coming in this week. IU loss should have been a win, but IU is good and it all the bounces that game.

Anyone else catch Izzo telling Winston Kobe died at the end of the game? I saw Winston mouth “Kobe?!” and be taken completely aback

At least he does something great and shows his potential so you like seeing him get minutes. With Kithier you just wonder why he isn?t sitting way at the end of the bench with Hoiberg?s and Izzo?s kids. I know they don?t play the same position, I?m just making the comparison to say it?s easy to put up with one guy?s awkward moments bc he has a high ceiling while the other just sucks.

100% agree

Anyone know why Bingham sat the last 30 minutes?

Izzo sees potential in Kithier, he thinks he can be a plus player for MSU, but won?t if he doesn?t get the minutes. He?s been awful this year, but I can honestly see him being an important piece next year if he starts shooting the mid range J.

The minutes at the 4, as it has all year will depend on situation and matchups. Hall probably has the most to offer overall unless the other team has some legit size at the 4. Bingham has the length but we know he'll get bullied in certain instances. Kithier isn't all that big either and can get overpowered. We know his ceiling is pretty low, but I trust him to make decisions with the ball more than Bingham (whose only value is the occasional 3 and he's not been all that proficient with those). And Marble the best equipped to back up Tillman at the 5 and put out there when you don't mind burning a few fouls.

Another way to go can be Gabe at the 4 with Henry at the 3 and Watts the 2 (who by the way I'm starting to like how he's playing).

Izzo also thought Goins deserved minutes over a series of elite recruits he ended up underutilizing and chasing off to the NBA less prepared than they should have been and with less college experience and accomplishments they could/should have had. Goins hit a couple big shots which somehow has a lot of fans forgetting all his shortcomings and thus they are convinced Izzo was right about Goins. I never bought in and from what I?ve seen if Kithier (although he?s not getting Goins minutes) I don?t expect him to be any different in his development.

Harris, like Dawson has raw talent and athleticism - he needs to keep playing and developing. Kithier looks like a foul and turnover machine that can?t defend or score who needs to be relegated to garbage time or when we have multiple bigs pick up their 2nd or 3rd fouls in the 1at half - hopefully when we have a double digit lead.

Goins could do 2 things that are near and dear to izzo's heart from the get go, he could rebound and he could defend. Kid was a serious rebounder and had an uncanny Dennis Rodman like nose for the ball. Izzo didn't chase JJJ away, he was always going to be a 1 and done.

Hall reminds me a ton of Goins, about the same size, both strong enough to defend guys bigger than them, and both have a nose for the ball. Hall is obviously further head than Kenny at this stage, but they bring a lot of the same things.

Whether he chased him away or not is up for debate but what isn?t up for debate is he massively under utilized Deyonta Davis and JJJ in favor of Goins. Even if it was a foregone conclusion JJJ was one and done, that?s no reason to play Goins ahead of him. You don?t see krooziwooski, calipari or self benching their elite recruits for walk-ons.

Did to Northwestern what we should have done to them. Played really well save for a 6 minute stretch in the first half.

8-2 at the halfway point and now the schedule gets much tougher. Really wish we wouldn't have crapped the bed @ IU because 9-1 would look so much better.

We have a gauntlet now that starts at Wisconsin this Saturday. But Wisky will be short handed. Their 2nd leading scorer, King, has quit the team. Cock puncher Davidson is suspended. Their 6th man, Potter, sprained his ankle last game and is probable, but could be limited.

Next 5 are key: @ Wisky, vs PSU, @UM, @Illinois, vs Maryland. 4-1 would be excellent. I think 15-5 wins the conference. We finish @ Nebraska vs Iowa, @ MD, @PSU, and vs OSU. 14-6? That could still tie for the title.

6 of 9 on the road gonna be tough and I don’t like the prospect of playing at Ill for what could be a head-to-head game for the conf lead. We tend to play our worst games in that arena regardless of the talent differential. Hopefully we got the shitty road game out of our system at Purdue.

Didn't even know they were playing right now and don't figure I'll tune in now. But just saw the Wisconsin score so far. Looks like another road trip where they decide to do a complete no show in the first half.

It's simple, bench Henry and play Watts. Henry is a good athlete, not so good basketball player. Heck Loyer looks better than him out there.

Tillman is straight yeah sometimes. 2 missed layups and don't in the last 4 trips.
