No excise to come out like this again vs a 15. This is almost a carbon copy of that middle Tennessee game. Especially the weird substitutions. Conner George played 5 fucking minutes lol

Izzo completely killed any confidence that Henry had. Since that blow up in the huddle he's had 4 turnovers and missed 3 shots. Just looks scared now. Never seen him look like this before.

Meanwhile, Kenny Goins is a complete no show like the last game.

Thank our lucky stars we hit free throws and limited turnovers. What a shit game. Huge work to do.

Hate seeing izzo make a weird comment about having to play a big ten team already. Just stop crying and get your team ready!!!

You all are overreacting. There was definitely some hangover from the BTT, but they got it done. McQuaid's shot to put them up 6 was the play of the game. Goins's shooting is a concern because he doesn't look confident again. He needs to step it up again going forward.

That said. I HATE these first round games, lol.

Overreacting my ass. That was the biggest shit show I've seen all year. That was a 15 loss team taking it to us for the majority of the game. I don't care if it was an ACC team, 15 losses is a ton. No excuse not being ready to play a 15 seed after what happened last time.

Izzo spent most of the week crying about the selection committee then just made that comment about having to play a big ten team. He needs to quit crying and get the team focused

And none of it will have any bearing on what happens Saturday. Hell Michigan last year fell behind 10-0 to Montana and only led by 2 at the half.

While that?s true IIRC they weren?t in a slugfest with 4 minutes left. The game was in hand by that point.

The good news is Goins, Henry, and Ward could not have played worse.

This was a game where I hoped they would use Ward more. Usually against mid majors and lower seeds punishing them inside is the way to go.

Kinda wished they would've played Tillman and Ward together today. I thought Ward played ok. Tillman was playing really well though so no way was he being pulled.

Seeing the Michigan fan comments across social media about Izzo berating Henry is pretty comical. I’ve seen them all, from people saying he should be fired to saying he should be forced to apologize publicly. I know Michigan fans are watching their basketball program for the first time since Chris Webber donned the uniform but breaking news, Izzo is demonstrative and rips players, shocking I know. When you commit to MSU you know damn well you’re going to be torn down by Izzo but then built back up eventually. Go praise your clown ass football coach who is the single weirdest person in the sport.

Sounds about right. When you cant beat them start looking for other things to pick at.

This is the positive I see. We have 3 key contributors that played terribly. You can somewhat add McQuaid to that list. He wasn?t as effective defensively as he usually is....but did knock down maybe the biggest shot of the game.

Nowhere to go but up, thankfully.

Minnesota played a good game today. We better be ready.

As far as the Henry situation is concerned....I don?t recall Izzo ever getting THAT mad before. That was crazy. However, I?m assuming it was addressed after the game and I don?t think anything else besides that needs to happen. Izzo?s players love him. I?m sure they don?t like situations like that, but guess what, it helps them get better. I wouldn?t be surprised to see Henry have one of his best games of the season Saturday.

I had initially typed Mcquaid as well but backspaced it solely because he had the huge 3 that really swung the game

the committee deserves to get called out for shit like that, especially in a year when they f'd us more than ever. It's ridiculous that as the top 2 seed we get the toughest 1 and it wasn't to put us in the home region. then they f us further by making our second round opponent either a team that beat us or another B1G team - Fs us and the conference at the same time.

MTSU took it to us for most, really the entire game. We got up high single digits on Bradley a couple times then let them back in. I'm not happy w/ the performance but I'm not terribly upset about having a bad shooting night and winning by 11, even if the game was closer at times. McQuaid had the shot of the game but Winston carried the team again - the guy is unflappable.

And when you look at our placement now, we had Bradley where Peoria, Ill is only a 4 hour drive away (and yes I'm sure that Bradley being the underdog 15 seed had something to do with the pro Bradley crowd too). Minneapolis is only a 3 1/2 hour drive from Des Moines. So I expect a pro Minnesota crowd tomorrow too on top of having to play another Big Ten team in the second round. Get through that and it could be another Big Ten team even closer to their home turf with Maryland in DC (rooting big for LSU tomorrow even though they aren't necessarily a good potential matchup).

But hey at least MSU is 120 miles closer than they would be in the Midwest Regional. I mean that all had to be some of the most moronic thought processes I've ever seen. I get that they can't consider all these possible scenarios, but come on. You got 12 f-ing people in the room.
