MSU @ Maryland

I've been watching FSU/Miami game for the past half hour, this game is a dud

Hahhaha me too, I actually forgot it was on and when FSU won I was ready to turn off the TV but just remembered we were still on. Wow, Hill doesnt break many like that

The thing about FSU is not they're not even "escaping" against good teams. Let's see how resilient they are when they have to face another Top 10 team. That is not a top 4 team.

It's true, they've been scraping by, but Bama may be the only team that can actually kill these guys. Noles have been turning it on in the 4Q to remain unbeaten. They will be in the playoff, however, and that may be when they decide to play a complete game. Won't be surprised at all to see them repeat.

I'd love it if fsu loses and we could get them in the fiesta or orange.

I want an SEC team.

Be careful what you wish for - we don't have a single quality win this year unless you think barely beating Nebraska who doesn't have a single quality win, is a quality win. I'm not saying we can't beat FSU or a good SEC team but we're not clearly better than those teams. After what OSU did to us, I'd say just about anything could happen in any of those matchups.

if we get one of the non playoff power bowls we'll be playing a good team regardless. I think FSU is a shady program that so blatantly enables wilson's behavior, it would be great to get a shot at them.

I agree. It would be great to beat FSU or a top quartile SEC team in a high profile bowl game. I just don't think it's even close to an automatic win. I never bought into the "Cook is a first rounder hype" and that hype is pretty much dead - lately he's looked pretty mediocre. Is Lippett hurt? he's been eerily quiet the last 2 games. Our defense is nowhere near as good as it was last year (even Johnny2x2x hasn't tried to convince us otherwise since OSU). Coaching, particularly on offense has been disappointing and the team has been committing stupid penalties at an alarming rate the last 3 weeks. That is not a recipe for success even against an overrated FSU team.

Lippett limped off the field against OSU and against Rutgers, he's not officially injured because he hasn't missed more than a series.

funny thing is that we've had one very good offensive game and one very good defensive game. We moved the ball really well on the ground against OSU, we could have had gaudy numbers but we had to throw so much late in the game given the score and clock, we held Maryland to 6 yards rushing.

I think this team is kind of going through the motions now, they need something to play for. Saturday was a game that you just survive, someone pops the balloon on your season a week earlier and it's tough to get up off the mat. Give credit to our players and coaches for doing it, Notre Dame couldn't do it and look what happened to them.

Hopefully we come out for senior day and play a full game on both sides of the ball, take it to PSU and then get fired up to win an Orange or Fiesta bowl against a top team. We aren't playing angry right now

Maryland is so bad they couldn't hang with us when we played really poorly and committed a penalty every 3rd play - 6 rushing yards is great but you said it yourself, they have no running game. I don't think it's valid to say we could have done that against OSU just because we did it to Md. I don't think we played all that different against the Terps than we did against OSU. Tthe main difference is you can get away with it against Md because they suck. OSU is a good team that is stacked w/ stud athletes and they played their best game in 2 years. Maryland could play their best game in 2 years and we should still beat them 7 out of 10 times.
