MSU predictions

I'm w/ you - bought my ticket on the Ok St train this morning. Fla, MSU, Ok St, Wich St is my final four. Spartans over Wich St for the NC.

The only reason I took MSU all the way is to show certain posters that I am a true State fan. I just hope we don't play a michigan team with fresh legs in the finals. Go State!

I'm all about Wichita State and think they're a great team, but I just don't see them beating Louisville. They got screwed big time with their bracket. I agree with the rest though.

been on the wichita state bandwagon for 3 years now - killed me when that 7 footer missed a point blank last second shot in the first round in 2012. As for 2014, I see no reason they can't beat a team that got swept by Memphis and split w/ Cincinnati. They may not beat them, but it's hardly a foregone conclusion.

Well, not worried about playing Cinci next round anymore. Harvard looked good, but certainly not any team that can beat us more than 1 out of 25 times.

Harvard is a pretty good team. They beat a 3 seed last year and are surprisingly athletic. They outplayed Cincinnati yesterday. I would give them just as much of a chance as Cincinnati at beating us. Not much of a chance but as much as Cincinnati.

Manhattan took Louisville to the wire last night and easily could have won. Wichita state def has a better PG than manhattan - one of the best in the country and 3 other guys that can score. Not saying it will be easy but they can definitely win that game (assuming they don't choke this weekend).

I found the furor over Louisville "only" getting a 4 seed with their 5-5 record or whatever vs the Top 50 amusing. They have their days where they can steamroll inferior opponents but I don't think they're battle-hardened this year like they were when in the Big East. They were gifted with a pretty easy draw too. I'd like to think Wichita State can take them out, but I'm a little skeptical of them too.

I assume this is 5 of 5 and not 5 & 5. Either way, can that be true? Memphis was 21 last time they beat Louisville and has only lost 2 games since - one was in AAC tourney. Could they have fallen >29 spots on 2 losses? Or is it maybe top 50 RPI? If that's the case, just eyeballing their schedule it appears to be skewed to he bottom half of the top 50. Either way, I agree - Louisville is a good team but definitely beatable.

Watching osu gonzaga, 60 fouls. I think foul trouble will be our undoing. They're really enforcing the new rules and also letting a lot of other bs go

Even the announcer said "gentlemen can we put the whistles away and watch a few straight possessions without interruption" or something like that. Really fucking annoying!! Its such a relief to be able to cuss on a message board.

OSU-Zaga game finished with 61 fouls called. Those officials should not be allowed to work again. Just a joke.

I had ok st in my final four. Oh well, still have the survival pool - for now anyway. Need UCLA tonight.

And now Iowa State will be without Niang the rest of the tournament (broken foot).

I asked the board a few days ago if I was crazy for having Ok state in the final four...yes I was.

Maybe I'm just rationalizing my pick but I think it's the nature of the one and done format. I didn't see the game last night as it was my wife's birthday but I saw Ok St play a lot this year. When they're at their best, they can hang with anyone. Apparently they weren't AT&T heir best last night. Also heard refs did their best to disrupt the flow of the game all night. Glad I missed it.

I watched a lot of that game. The last 4 minutes easily took over half an hour with all the fouls. It was ridiculous.

I was one of the guys who felt the physical play needed some cleaning up this season, but as usual the refs are overcompensating and going too far the other way. It's not really their fault though. It's coming from above them after things were called more loosely during the conference seasons. The refs that want the good assignments are going to be the ones using their whistles.

Cleaning up physical play is one thing. Bailing out and rewarding bad offense is another, and that's what they're doing now.

The other half of the bracket is opening up. Villanova is out, Iowa State is injured. That half may very well come down to UNC vs Connecticut. We'll see if Virginia can get by Memphis tomorrow.
