huge week for MSU, win this one and we're in good shape to win out for the regular season. This is a quick turnaround against a big, physical Purdue team. Lots of good matchups in this one, particularly Denzel Valentine against Raephel Davis, reigning DPOY in the Big ten. Purdue is huge inside with Hammons/Hawes/Swanigan. This game should be a fistfight, it will be interesting to see how it's called, that will dictate a lot in this one. If we end up seeing Wollenman early on we're in trouble.

Right now MSU is playing as well as we've played all year, even before the Denzel injury. Look at these national ranks

Rebound Margin #1
Assists per game #1
Scoring Margin #3
3pt fg % D #4
3pt FG % O #4
Assist/TO #4

That my friends, is insane. Outside of a few game slump when Denzel came back this team has been as impressive as any MSU team I've seen in 15 years. Each game is different and matchups are important, we'll see how it plays out Tuesday but I think we have the horses to really run Purdue out of the gym. Their big men are slow and don't get back on D, Swanigan for all of his upside is really a trainwreck, bad defense, low shooting % for a big and a ton of TO's. I think we win by 7-10

If we can run at all we should win. Purdue is slow and their bigs get tired quickly. Purdue has a very good half court defense though, so getting good shots quickly will be a key.

Caleb Swanigan is terrible, Painter lets him chuck 3s whenever he wants while shooting 28% from beyond the arc. And he's a turnover machine, how many PFs in the country average 3 turnovers a game? Funny how when we lost him to Purdue the talk was one and done and that Davis would need some time to develop. Davis is a 1st rounder in most mock drafts, Swanigan is not on any lists now.

Funny that DD was always considered the second prize on that AAU team. I love davis, always wanted to play for Izzo, committed right after he got the offer, he was an unscouted 3 start, blew up to a top 25 player, never wavered.

But...but in playing him at the 4 and letting him freely chuck 3's at a low percentage Painter is better preparing him for the NBA.

the potential is there but 18 minutes avg 7 points 1st round in mock draft is kind of weird.cmon NBA stop making this guy think he can leave under these terms lol

I've never seen guys more scared to take it to the hoop than this team tonight. Need to attack the rim and get some fouls on their bigs.

Missing too many easy shots. Purdue is forcing us into a slow game though and Rafeal Davis is a 29% 3 point shooter who is 4-4.
