Up 3 at half, didn't play great, shot poorly. We need to just find a way to win ugly get a won at Breslin next week and then get zel back for psu.

Feed the post and take the win. Forbes and Harris trying to shoot us out of this game. Amazing how much Denzel means to this team.

No doubt, we have a ton of depth but outside of two guys there isn't a big separation between the 3rd best player to the 10th.

Costello having a hell of a game

I trust izzo in the way he hands out minutes but I can't see why DD isn't playing more. He may struggle a little w ball screens and cutting out but he scores and alters shots.

Honestly, I think this is the reason we miss out on the big recruits. Izzo refuses to let them play through mistakes.

We could score 75% of the time going to the post today and Forbes is just firing at will and missing. He might cost us this game.

Valentine can't come back soon enough. I think Forbes is just trying to do too much and Harris needs to play more under control.

Our big men carried us today led by Costello.

I missed Iowa due to being on the road (wheww) and missed this one on purpose. I might as well continue my MSU hoops fast until Tine gets back. Looking at the box score we hit 17-20 from the stripe and yeah, give Davis 25 minutes in these games! its an absolute farce he isnt getting more time and everyone knows it. Feed the D! These games wont be as close if he just fucking plays more.

It's true, guys coming for 1 yr aren't about sitting on the bench because they don't set screens well or hedge on ball a screens. We just happen to win with lesser recruits because izzo coaches that way.

Anyone watching purdue iowa? Hawkeyes were down 19, now up 5

Does Hammonds not start for them anymore?
Didn't watch the beginning but he was on the court w Swanigan a lot. Good thing we have multiple bigs to throw at them

I think Haas starts. I recall Hammonds sitting their first few games for some reason and maybe they just stuck with Haas when Hammonds returned. They play about an equal amount and I think are their 2 top scorers.

I'll keep saying it in hopes that Izzo will read it...please play Davis more. His post moves are smoother and better than Costello and every other big we have on the team. Those spin moves by Costello are horrendous. Harris is a bit out of control but he can get his shot when ever he wants. I think a lot of the control issues come into play because he is given the ball with the clock winding down and he has to force things.

Harris and Valentine on the floor at the same time come March is going to give every team problems. Add Forbes shooting ability and you've got one heck of a team. Hopefully Davis is starting by then...come on Izzo!

Yeah at the very least I'd think he should be getting 15-20 minutes a game, preferably close to 20. He was at 17 yesterday but that hasn't always been the case. Certainly he shouldn't lose 6 minutes to Wollenman like what happened the other day. He makes mistakes but I think the positive things he brings outweigh that by quite a bit.

On another note I noticed Costello and Schilling started together yesterday. I'm thinking we might see that more. It's good defensively as it looks like Schilling moves his feet well enough to go out and guard 4s, though I think we lose something offensively. Even though Bess and Clark were reportedly banged up it seems like they'll start to have their minutes get squeezed anyway. Even Goins seems to be on equal footing with them now.

Lots of flack for costello, ive never thought he was a bad player. He has problems finishing around the rim sometimes but hes a good player. We lose that game if it wasnt for him yesterday.
