That's pretty unbelievable, given how terrible they were the first 4 games.

Go Green!

Looks that way, there's a chance FSU could stay #2 if they lose a close game, but I doubt that. I think FSU rolls Auburn regardless.

Would have loved a chance to play FSU after the Rose Bowl, oh well, maybe next year.

Honestly with Alabama getting stomped last night it's pretty obvious to me that FSU and MSU are the two best teams this year.

Even if bama won we should have been #2. If you beat #2 and #5 at neutral sites, you should jump bama.

Can't believe I'm saying this but we were a better team than bama this year

Amazing it wasn't too long ago we got completely rolled by them in January 2011, to being on the same level as them 3 years later.

We still have a chance at #1, we need Auburn to beat FSU 2-0 in the single ugliest college football game in the past 100 years

HAHAHA and OSU loses the Orange bowl tonight after allllllll that yapping.... Go Green Go White.

Fuck em, osu is approaching UM territory, anything good for them is bad for us.

In the last 3 years MSU is 3-0 in Bowls, the rest of the Big Ten is 5-16. Big 1 little 11.

Probably be close, but it looks like MSU will finish #2.

That's awesome, a fantastic year. Best in my lifetime....easily.

That said, I didn't think either team playing last night was much better than MSU. Playoff format was a year too late.

3rd.

Can't say I'm shocked, but I think it shows lack of respect for the B1G.

Fuck the polls!

we feed off the lack of respect, we were the only 1 loss team in the country, beat #2 and #5 at neutral sites to finish the year. Auburn beat #1 at home, #5 neutral, and then lost to #1 neutral, still impressive.

either way, 13-1 with wins over OSU and Stanford is pretty freaking impressive.

Doesn't really matter. No one ever remembers the final poll other than who finished #1.

I agree with msumatt. All the early preseason polls have us at 5-7 and Oregon top 5. That Oregon game the 2nd week of the year will be incredible! Is it September yet?

it's amazing how much those stupid preseason polls matter when you want to qualify for a bcs game or the new playoff. where you start is tremendously important, we ended up winning out so it's a moot point but it will be big in the future

Arizona State finished #2 in 1975 after beating Nebraska. Michigan finished #2 behind Oklahoma in 1985 after beating…Nebraska.

Two teams that I remember finishing #2. Oh, USC finished #2 after losing to OSU in the '69 RB.
