1-Austin Jackson CF
2-Brennan Boesch RF
3-Migual Cabrera 3b
4-Prince Fielder 1b
5-Delmon Young DH
6-Alex Avil C
7-Jhonny Peralta SS
8-Ryan Raburn LF
9-Brandon Inge 2b

Not too shabby if I say so my self.

That's only 9, lol. Btw, no way I want Inge there because of two lousy St games.

Why does everyone insist Delmon Young will DH?

Seriously, Leyland has said no, time and time again, and he has not been the DH yet in ST.

I still don't think Inge wins a starting job, not unless he hits over .270 all ST long.

It would be pretty sad Inge gets the starting nod for hitting a lousy .270 against mostly milb junk.

Well late in ST the MiLB junk will be mostly gone, and .270 would be like a whole new Inge, I'm not saying he should get the job with that, I'm just saying that I don't see him making the starting squad unless his bat really explodes.

BTW, .270 would be .035 higher than his career average, save to assume it's not going to happen.

Did not the Tigers resign him! And too think the going away party had all ready begun foe many a fan. " not going to happen" I'll believe it when it happens!

If boss Insists DY is not the DH, he'll be a LF than Raburn needs to play somewhere. And that somewhere is 2B. I don't thing Leyland wants Inge out there much.

Oh ya the rest:

SP-Drew Smyly

Someone has to DH...Dirks?

If JL wanted I get out there he would have just put Miguel as the DH but he wanted him at 3B so Inge wouldn't have a spot. I think JL is getting tired of his act.

I think what I read was DH was going to be an open position, rotating people in and out to maximize the platoons, probably Raburn, Young, Cabrera, Fielder, Boesch, and Avila all will see a good amount of time there.

I'm not sure Dirks gets a roster spot, it's between him and Worth IMO for the last spot, Boesch, Kelly, Ajax, Raburn, Young are a lot of outfield, while Peralta, Inge, Raburn, and Santiago are a lot of middle infield.

Honestly, I'd rather have Worth.

You forgot Laird, no way both Dirks and Worth make the roster, unless Inge is cut.

I'd go:

Ajax - CF
Boesch - RF
Miggy - 3B
Prince - 1B
Avila - C
Peralta - SS
Young - LF
Santiago - 2B
DH - revolving position

Bench - Laird, Kelly, Worth, Raburn, Inge

SP Verlander
SP Fister
SP Scherzer
SP Porcello
SP Below/Oliver/????

RP - Marte/Wilk/Hoffman
RP - Pauley
RP - Schlereth
RP - Coke
RP - Dotel
SU - Benoit
CP - Valverde

But it all depends on the 5th spot.

It's a 25-man roster, not 26. Durty has an extra person.

Inge ST versus Regular Season

YEAR ST Season
2011 0.273 0.197
2010 0.283 0.247
2009 0.258 0.230
2008 0.273 0.205
2007 0.259 0.236
2006 0.304 0.253
2005 0.333 0.261
2004 0.333 0.287
2003 0.209 0.203
2002 0.154 0.202

Inge's best 3-year span was probably 2004-2006. Ironically, those were also the years he hit .300 or better in Spring Training. IMHO, unless Inge hits .300 or better, he does not start coming out of ST. In fact, if he is hitting below .270, I would option him to AAA.

He has 25 listed, but forgot Laird, which is why I think he has both Worth and Dirks on the roster.

I think Inge is gone. Worth is gonna make this a reality.

There was just an article on MLB trade rumors where Dombrowski said Inge seemed like a natural at 2nd. As much as we all hate it, I think we are stuck with Inge. I think Worth deserves the shot. Unless Dombrowski is trying to raise Inge's trade value up to a bag of balls and a fungo bat.

Inge has no trade value and won't add anything just because he might be able to play 2B. He is due $6 Mil (2012 salary + 2013 option) and will soon be 35. At that cost, DET would have to basically pick up the majority of his remaining salary. So why not just place him on waivers and see if another team bites? They would have nothing to lose.

Inge has no trade value because he is a 5/10 guy, and could (and would) veto any trade that did not promise him a starting 3B job.

2b, LF and DH will all be rotating in and out this year, it will depend on wheter a lefty or righty is pitching and it will depend who is hot. With a LHP Leyland will manuever Inge, Raburn, Young and Cabrera around, between 2b, 3b, LF and DH and with a RHP I think Santiago gets the majority of the starts at 2b, unless Raburn stays hot all year and needs a place to play,
