I would be thrilled if the Lions threw some dice and came up with some solid gambles....
#1 - Terrance Knighton. Rumor has it teams are afraid to sign Pot Roast because he's out of shape. He could lose millions. Sign him to a 2 year, $6MM contract and get him in shape. He'd be a steal.
#2 - Dewayne Bowe. He's probably looking at a minimum deal given he failed to score least season. Take the flyer on him.
#3 - Trent Richardson. Yes, I heard the grumble all the way from here, and I am serious. The kid has talent. I don't know what went wrong in Indy but let him clear waivers, sign him to a minimum deal, and put him behind Bell and Riddick. Make him earn his playing time. I promise you, whatever free agent we sign as a third back won't have half his potention, and will cost us more... take the risk.
#4 - Paul Fanaika. Yep, I know people are looking at Blalock, but I prefer the offensive line to remain under 30 years a man. Paul Fanaika is only 26 years old, and he's been good when he's played, with room to mature and develop. He's "expected" to sign a 3 year deal with K.C., but nothing is official until the contract is signed. Make the call.
#5 - Brandon Browner. With all the money I just saved on flyers, we have the money left to shore up the secondary with a good corner. Make it happen.
