My Top 5 All Time Catchers

Johnny played with Pete and was good friends, but when he stabbed Rose in the back with his statements about Rose not getting into the HOF,that pissed me off, didn't he ever hear the statement if you haven't anything nice to say about somebody, then don't say it. and these guys were supposed to be friends, all Bench is a prick, not saying he isn't one of the best catchers, just saying he's a prick.

Ty Cobb was a huge fucking asshole, worse than Bench by miles.

Does not make him any less great of a player.

evidently you don't know or haven't heard all that Bench has said, he went so far to say that if Rose got in the HOF that he would boycott the HOF ceremonies.

never said Bench wasn't one of the best, just a prick, and I wouldn't have liked Cobb either.

You stated in another post that "these (see above list) were your top five." Is Bench top 10 in your estimation?

To me, a discussion of the best catchers that doesn't place Bench #1 by a wide margin might as well include the likes of Duane Josephson and Jerry Moses on the consideration list. And, what the hell, Randy Hundley, Manny Sanguillen, Bob Boone, Jerry Grote, Gene Tenace and Tim McCarver, too.
