NCAA Sweet 16: March 28th, 2025 9:40Pm #5 Michigan vs #1 Auburn

That was a great hook shot. Totally bailed out that possession.

That probably does it. Cant get the call on the out of bounds. . Play decent defense. Auburn hits a prayer. They are just better at shooting the three than we are sadly.

Sadly only 17 points since up 48-39. They hit threes and we didn’t.
They hit 3 more threes than we did. Pummeled on the glass. Way too many turnovers. Auburn clamped down. We didn’t respond.
Turnovers killed us.

Yeah that's all she wrote. Hell of a year, coming off Juwan getting canned. Great first year for Dusty May.

I’ll watch the highlights. Easier not to get emotionally involved in the game that way. It was too late for me to watch.

I think you said it earlier in the thread, sloppy. This team had a real problem with sloppy play all year and it finally caught up to them. Still, a much better season that was expected. B1G Tourney Champs and a Sweet 16. Not bad.

The singular frustration of Michigan basketball that goes back to the 1970s.

I would say that after year 3, Beilein's teams were not sloppy.

In year 1, Dusty gets a pass for this. He took over a team AT THE ACTUAL BOTTOM OF THE BIG TEN, and the worst season in Michigan history (8-24/3-17), and had them competing for a Big Ten title, won the BTT, and with 10:00 left, looked to have a chance to knock the overall #1 seed out of the tournament.

On the RCMB, some of them (not all, but a lot of them) are slagging him for doing this with a lot of transfers, and then saying the Big Ten was "down" this year.

But... 1) he still brought those transfers in and got them to mesh, and coached them up, which was an achievement on its own, given, and 2) in the same breath they say the Big Ten was down, they'll mention winning it by three games as an achievement that justified why they were a 2 seed and we were a 5...
