Can't decide if I like it yet or not, but it definitely changes the strategies around.

Is it better to get the ball 1st? Sure you might score a TD, but what if it is 4th and short inside the Red Zone? Do you go for it in hopes of getting the conversion and eventual TD or kick the FG, which would allow the other team to potentially go down and score a TD for the win? So is it better to Kick or Receive???

Many new twists will result in some interesting decisions, criticisms, and hopefully fun football.

Well...if you are Denver, you get the ball and score a TD apparently! Holy Tebow!!! lmfao

If the opposing team is allowed to try and match a field goal after one possession then why not a TD as well? It's just unfortunate that now we have to listen to ANOTHER week of Tebow bullshit.

They should do it like college football. Start at the 50yrd line though.

They changed the rules to give both offense's a chance. Pit didn't get a chance. How fucking dumb can the nfl get.

Not sure how I feel about the OT rules yet either.

Say Denver got a field goal on their first possession. Then pitt gets the ball, now they essentially have four downs every time to get into field goal possession. Since they would never punt, because the game would be over.

I still think you always want the ball first, but perhaps a team like 49ers wouldn't since their bread and butter is defense.

I'm even thinking they should play a full extra quarter, or a 10 minute OT. If still tied, play another. Far more fair, IMO.

Yeah. I think I do too. Getting the KO, running 3 plays and bam, a FG - is kind of BS for a playoff game. This is more fair. And no, I don't think Pittsburgh deserved to match Denver's TD.

for the most part i like them. I just hate the fact that there are different rules for play-off games. the same system should be used for both the regular season as well as the play-offs.

Play the full quarter and then go from the 50 after that like CFB does.

How long do you want these games to last? Why not just play another 4 quarters.

Until a team wins a fair and balanced OT instead of something influenced so extremely by a coin flip would be nice. What happens if 2 strong defensive teams play and neither team can score for 3+ OTs? The guys keep playing then, regardless of how long it takes. Playing full quarters, even 10 minute OTs, would be more legit as it is more like the game. Only hockey is best served by Sudden Death OT as both teams have equal opportunity from the get go.

Pittsburgh did have a fair way. Stop the other team from throwing an 80 yard TD pass. Its 2012. They'll not have a 6 hour game. In baseball, RP can barely go 1 inning, starters can't throw CG. In football, a 30 run play has the RB taking ozygen. And you expect them to play much longer? Ain't happening.

you make a valid point. for as great a athletes as these guys are, and as much as they are in great physical shape, they sure have a lack of endurance these days.

Yeah lets bring up a game that few on this board watched.

All I can say is that you really missed something special.

I was 6. So i might have watched it but don't remember. My dad was really into football. But my first memories are from the '72 season.

Seven was when I started watching football. So I remember the '64 game NFL championship game when the Browns shut out the Colts 27-0.
