New predictions

But also 2 of the 3 loses were because of record setting ST futility.

Randall Cobb twice, Hester/Weems twice, Harvin in the Metrodome, Patrick Peterson, Leon Washington for Seattle. Special teams needs settled too.

Could be worst, Saints.

Yeah but at least the Saints have won a super bowl. Lions on the other hand...

It just ain't ever going to happen. this deeply saddens me...why I don't really know it probably shouldn't... but it does..

This is true....but the problem is two of the three losses were penciled in as wins. The schedule gets harder.

true, but i think many had 2011 Lions beating Atlanta and Chicago (2nd game), both which were losses during that 1-3 stretch.

plus green bay looks beatable this year, so 2012 lions might still win games that most have penciled in as losses.

again, just trying to keep the darkness of the doom and gloom at bay. not saying this team has given enough effort yet this year to warrant any optimism, but i still have it nonetheless.

Well if that's what you think. No one had a worse history then the Saints and they won one.

that's my point, they actually won one after years of disappointment, The lions on the other hand never get there and they've been around a lot longer than the Saints have on top of that! Mommas don't let your babies grow up to be Lion fans. Despair and no hope is all we know..

And by the way the people that live there don't go to the games it's the people in the surrounding areas that go to the games.

to further my point about the D, they are roughly 12th in Total Yards Against, 11th in Pass YA and 16th in Rush YA. Take away the PA scored when ST or O were on field and they are tied for 7th (granted that is supposing the D gets a stop instead of giving up points on the hypothetical drives that would have happened in place of those actual TDs).

so, my point being the D is actually playing average to above average has some merit despite the appearance that they suck. there are very few elite Ds this year, the problems have been far more O and ST related. still taking too many penalties too, but they are tied for 10th in terms of least penalized teams so they have improved there, though they are 20th in least penalized yards so when they get a penalty it is usually of the very painful variety still as average penalty is over 10yds.

What your forgetting is tha those st td's help the d stats becuse the opponent didnt have to drive down the field to score.

So the Lions have had a few extra years. No big deal. I bet you enjoyed an occasional first round loss over a sure fire under .500 team. The Saints, what'd they have like 30+ years of nothing over .500? Now that's bad. One SB doesn't take that sting away.

it would for me.

Vikings didn't score an offensive TD all game. No reason to think they would drive down the field and score. Maybe a few more yards, maybe a score, maybe not. We'll never know.

Titans game is more likely given how the game went but every possession is not always a TD. In fact, Titans held to field goals(5 times) which is most of the time except for 2 big TD plays.

We do the know the 28 points given up from special teams definitely hurt the Lions and was a big part in 2 losses and Pettigrew fumble hurt the Lions too and the pick 6 by Finnegan kept that game closer.

We suck. Get the November Draft threads ready. This team blows. Top 10 pick here we come.

2013 comes around do you really see them drafting a corner? Or safety? They've had the past 2 years to do that and went elsewhere..

I wouldn't be shocked if they went DT or LB.

I thought 9 or 10 wins before the season. But I was thinking we'd be 3-1 right now. Our schedule is looking even harder than I thought it would be as well. I say we finish 6-10. And since our 5-0 start last year, we are 6-10 in our last 16 games.

I was hopeful coming into this year, but with all the miracle comebacks last year, this year is the same so far, without the comebacks. We'll see if coaching/talent/heart can turn this around with the bye week.

This team plays just like most women's personalities...........full of drama. I watch games hoping to see a sound "W", even a boring but convincing win but it's never that way. I'm stressed out and all my energy is spent because every game goes down to the last possession. Since the denver game in 07, there have probably been less than five outright convincing wins for this team. When one area that steps up, we get let down in others. It's fucking ridiculous that the defense has been the most reliable unit so far; with a trash can secondary and unlimited tendencies to commit atrocious penalties at the worst times. Same old stuff.

5-11. Hate to say it, but this has all the makings of a letdown season.
