They ran the ball 4 of the 8 plays on the first 2nd half drive. Fumbled on the 1st run on the 2nd drive. Ran it on 1st down for nothing and went 3 and out on the 3rd drive. Then they were behind. So no, the running game was not working even though they tried running. SF clearly made adjustments

We are talking about being up 24-10. Other then Browns run those are decent numbers
From Montgomery. 6 yards a carry for Montgomery this drive .
The brown run Was stupid because everyone knew he was running it.
We should have not tried that deep play action to Laporta. .

I think we need one player on each level of the defense, as well as Oline depth.

We need a pursuit monster at LB (I know they don't grow on trees) like the 49ers have. AA is a fair player, but he's not exactly striking fear into the hearts of ball carriers. The encouraging thing is that they made a priority to be good against the run this year, and they've done that. I know we gave up 155 yards last night but the 9ers are a top tier running team. Purdy killed us, in fact if you take his runs out of the stats we gave up 3.8 YPC against the other guys. Not terrible. We have to figure out how to get there on pass rush. We get lots of pressure, but allow lots and lots of escapes.

All in all, this year was fun as hell and I really feel like we trending in a great direction. One really good FA on defense (with other FA signings at depth) and another good draft and we will be able to battle these teams in all phases.

So frustrating how many plays we normally make we didn?t in the Second half starting from the missed 4th and 2. I wish they had gone back up by 17. But Dan is going to stand by what he does. Pretty sure I know how Valenti from 97.1 is going to say.

But after that play the missed Reynolds catch.we missed so many chances to make winning plays.

The game is totally different if one of these plays doesn't happen.

He was so so in the second half. The glaring weakness in his game is he can?t pick up first downs with his feet. I may be one of the biggest reason SF is moving on and Detroit is staying home. Idk. But he did hit Reynolds righ in the hands 2 times in the second half.
1st one was just a ok throw but still should been caught. The 3rd and 10 was a perfect pass from Goff.

It?s so frustrating how poor we are in the 3rd quarter and yet after SF field goal we had a chance to match that field goal but instead went for it on 4 and 2 and missed. That miss really changed uncle Mon this game. Lions were gashing them on this series before the last 3 plays. Montgomery Espically this series. But Laporta Miss. than Laporta 6 yard catch . Then Brown stupid run. Then Reynolds drop on 4 and 2. Man it hurts.

It was fine, he didn't drop passes or fumble the ball, sure he over threw a couple of passes but he wasn't a major factor as to why they lost.

I'm coping by not listening to any talk radio or network commentary, no video links from me this week or next. the season is over. maybe next year. now do we have to worry about Ben Johnson taking a bunch of assistant coaches with him? I really don't want to see a high rate of assistant coaches leaving also. I guess same for Glenn but aren't there only two teams left now that haven't hired a new coach yet? hell Washington rumor aside maybe we don't end up losing any at all. ?
