NFC Playoff Picture - 12/26/2011

I had doubt on SF early but they can play some nice defense. And damn we almost beat them.

based on the standings, and the bears losing cutler, if the bears go 8-8, and the gmen crumble (tough schedule)we COULD get in at 9-7! good thing the teams behind us are out of reach unless they go undefeated

They aint crumbling....We lose all tiebreakers to them unless they lose to Minny or we beat GB. The have us in conference wins, we would have to run the table on all 3 conference games, ie, win in NO & GB

3 wins and 3 loses to Atl...its pretty simple

Ughh why couldn't we get Seattle or Arizona or St Louis. 3rd place schedule my ass. We get two division leaders in San Fran and Dallas on top of GB twice, Chi twice,Atlanta while hot, at Saints, at Raiders, at Cowboy . If we beat Minnesota, at Oakland and San Diego we deserve to be in(beating 3 playoff teams Chicago,at Oakland,at Dallas) but it might not be enough at 10-6.

Yes Atlanta beat Detroit but who else did they beat. Eagles,Carolina,Min,Ten,at Indy, at Seattle and lost to Pack,Chicago,Bucs,Saints. They get at Houston(with 3rd string),Jax,at Carolina,at Saints and Bucs left. Chicago split with us and would get in beating Atlanta and the NFC West opponent(not San Fran) and at the Eagles.

That said if Detroit is 9-7 then they don't deserve it obviously.

shut up with the who did they beat shit....they played the schedule they got handed.

Lions got NFC South and AFC West this year along with Dallas and SF....sucks but thats how it goes.

didn't see anyone bitch about the schedule when they ass raped Kansas City,

Lions need to get handed a schedule like that. Looks at 2012 schedule sees NFC West and AFC South but of course Peyton and Schaub will be back.

Lions got shit to fix but if they get 10-6 and they don't get in I will be pissed(but of course that means nothing but it sucks)

Everyone got KC though and nobody faced Charles or Berry and the Bears/Pack don't even face Cassel they get Palko or Orton in a new system facing Hanie.

Every way the Lions were unlucky(and it started last year losing Stafford). For a growing team that hasn't seen the playoffs in forever that sucks(see the year the Browns were good and didn't go to the playoffs0, if we ever get as good as the Packers it won't matter who is on the schedule but this year it mattered.

If the Lions need a favorable schedule to have a good record, then they aren't a good team.

they won't beat New Orleans or Oakland.

leaves you Minny , SD and GB.

Oakland is doable......

they have a nice running game , and Palmer is getting more comfortable and goes down the field quite nicely.

over the last 4 weeks he is 3rd in the NFL at passes completed beyond 21 yards...trailing only Rodgers and Dalton.

and we all know Lions Safeties can be beat deep.

They are not a sure fire good team yet. They are trying to grow into a good team and are getting there. This tougher schedule helps the Lions in the long run but when talking playoffs this year it sucks, especially if it comes down to one game with Bears or Falcons for playoffs. We'll see if the Lions earn it by beating Oakland,Vikings and Chargers and getting help to get into the playoffs at 10-6.

a nice tidbit going forward....jay cutler saying he could well be done for the season. if the bears miss the playoffs because of this, that city will burn his house down.

put a glove on it Jay...c'mon

IMO Cutler played real well so far this year , they have absolute dogshit for WRs...they rode Forte early and now defenses are taking that away from them...

Hanie was brutal in Oakland , they should have got beat by 21+....the Raiders couldn't finish and kept kicking FGs.

lets hope the Hanie train stays derailed....KC winning at Soldier Field would be huge
