Alphonso Smith is just growing into this role in the nickle and fast as shit. remember he is still young. youre right in the fact we need a legit #1, via draft or free agency. look for asante samuel, cortland finnegan, or ledarious webb to be heading to detroit in the offseason, as the draft must be commited to the OLINE

The offense showed throughout the season they can hang with the best out there, barring a change or 3, lol, on the OLINE.

Defense, and most specifically the secondary, is where improvements must be made. Eric Wright is gone, Speivey gone, Harris gone, Coleman might be invited to camp, major overhaul needed

I doubt if Gunther is even being considered for getting the axe yet, deserving as he may be, but he will have a shortened final year if the virtual deluge of yellow flags and stupid defensive positioning continues deep into next season, and if a few are let go and better players are added, but the Lions D continues to regress.

Someday soon we will see a Lions win a fucking playoff game, but some of the other rival teams like the Bears and Vikes are going to try to improve in the off-season as well. Seems like the Packers can almost stand pat and do as well or better, that is, unless they are beaten in one of their two NFC home games or maybe if they lose if they make it to the Superbowl.
