NFL investigating Patriots' footballs

Seems that the Patriots are the New Oakland Raiders.

As stupid as this accusation sounds it wouldn't surprise me if it was all true.

Cheaters? You guys realize this would help both teams, right? Not sure why this is a story.

They were saying here that each team brings 12 footballs to use.

Then interviewing players when the footballs are brought in by other team personnel.

Wouldn't put it past them.

Yep, each team brings it's own balls for use by the offense. They have a little leeway in how much they pump them up but they have to be within specs.

So no, it wouldn't help both teams.

Supposedly D'Qwell Jackson noticed the ball seemed deflated after his interception. So much so that he turned it over to a Colts trainer.

Some reports are that several balls were removed from play for being under inflated. The NFL finds it suspicious that so many balls last air during the game.

I have read two reports that the NFL has video of trainers removing air from the balls... but I can't imagine anyone is that stupid.

Oh now the NFL has video.

Oh now the NFL has video.

Doubtful. It was reported by a couple of the low-brow sports sites.

I would be stunned to find out they were dumb enough to stand on the sidelines with a ball needle letting air out on camera.

Seems they could deflate the ball to the lowest spec level in the locker room, then when it goes out onto the field the cold will deflate it to an even lower level than spec, thereby being deflated. I'm guessing the specs have a range of a couple psi, since the kicking team usually has their ball at a max pressure as I recall.

still, what is the NFL going to do...vacate the AFC CG win and send the Colts to the SB?

I guess if you can't whine about the refs, this is another way to go.

I wish the Lions would get investigated for winning big games in the playoffs :/
