Shit, the guy barely got any credit last year imo. I remember seeing Jaworski rate him in the middle of the pack as far as qbs go before this season started.

Ummm. I did. I was in attendance as well. He kept the chains moving and made a TON of nice throws. AKA Titus 46 yard bomb. I kept calling him "Master Shredder" He was phenomenal Sunday.

He made some fantastic passes in the game, I don't disagree one bit on that. The best throws of the game were the sidearm one where Titus dove and caught it to get the 1st down, and the final TD to Titus. That still doesn't negate what I said about him getting better reads and handling check downs better though. Maybe I'm hypercritical, but there's definite room for improvement from Stafford. Hell, I say the same thing about Verlander though too. When you see the crazy amounts of raw talent, you want to see them get every bit of benefit from it that they can and you start to pick them apart.

He was double and triple teamed last year. When it comes down to it yards doesn't give wins, TDs do. That said, the guy is a beast, even when he's not 100%. Broyles and Titus's game this week were due to that. Let's hope they can keep it up.

All im saying is they spent a lot of time talking about how seattles defense was going to shut us down....it didnt happen. Instead of spending all your time talking about how sanchez and romo suck....spedn a min talking about how your analysis of the det/sea game didnt pan out how you thought it was going to and give Stafford some credit. My biggest problem with Staff this year had been consistently putting drives together. Even when we didnt score i thought the offense did a great job of flipping field position throughout the game. Maybe Nates injury was a revelation but other guys stepped up and contributed....which is what weve been waiting for all year. Hopefully we can continue to develop those guys and ensure theyre an important piece of the offense. Theres no way teams should be able to just focus on megatron and completely shut us down for 3 quarters of a game like they have been able to. This was the first week weve been able to look elsewhere and get major production.

The offense came through this week. The biggest thing between this last game and all the others was 3rd conversions. Before, it was a penalty to make it harder, or more often than not, a bad throw or a dropped pass. Those plays were made this week. If we want to continue our success on the offense, they can't let up.

Um......like others in this thread....I was at the game too. I saw a guy SHRED a defense that held Tom Brady AND Aaron Rogers to 2 TD and 2 INT in 2 games. By the way, Seattle beat both of them.

Stafford made some really good throws all game long. He had CJ in the corner of the end zone 2 plays before the Titus game winner and CJ dropped it. His only real mistake was his pick.....I don't think he ever saw Earl Thomas.

You might wanna reconsider your "evaluation" of his performance last Sunday.....because you are WAY off.

Yup. They were 12-16 and 3 of our 4 td's were on 3rd down plays.

Second, you might need to define what you mean by 'shredding' a defense. I saw lots of short little passes that kept the chains moving with good YAC by the WRs and RBs. Stafford did well with this, but we played from behind all game, and I didn't see anything near the domination you guys claim to have seen. Hell, we won on a TD with 0:20 left. That should tell you something about the game. I was in section 105, row 22, right at about the 43yd line behind the Lions bench, so I had a really good look at things. I thought Stafford played pretty well, but I didn't find him to be dominating the defense. He was taking what they were giving him, which was short passes to receivers and backs not named Megatron. He had some brilliant passes, and a couple stinkers, and when he had to read the defense or check down, I thought he struggled a bit.

As for the CJ "drop", Stafford threw it early in the route and threw it really hard. If CJ isn't catching it, there probably aren't many who are. Stafford talked about that on the radio and said as much too. Now, the pick was terrible. I'm not sure if he didn't see him or what, but he looked to be staring him down before he threw it right to him. That one was a head scratcher.

352 yards through the air, 3 TD's and one on the ground. Add in 34-49 by Staff as well and it's called "shredded". Give me a break.
