NW @ Michigan Game Thread 1/11

Hardaway was 7-13 and the rest of the team combined for 15-53 28%. With Hardaway they shot a scorching 33%. Amazing to win when shooting that poorly.

NW going eight minutes without a field goal certainly did not hurt. *captain obvious to the rescue*

Amazing we won with 33% shooting

If we had shot better the bad refs woukdn't have seemed so bad

Still love Novak and his hustle
getting called for two fouls in first minuecwascceazy

Glad Some football guys joined the maize rage and participated in actions
Some others stayed where they were and a number left

Got to love denard having fun from conducting the band to being in student section-he came it a few games last year and was in maize rage then too

Man that was a struggle... Glad we won but man Northwestern always gives us trouble..

The tick-tack fouls were burtal in this game and it was coming from the same old coger every time just about... I have never seen so many phantom bail out fouls called..

Just in time for Smotz to get into a bad slump. I mean he kicked off tonight's game by airballing a 2 footer and it didn't get much better from there.

if the calls were even at all we prob would have won by 10 in regulation.

You had ONE more foul than N'western, and ONE more FT attempt. I think some calls were missed but it wasn't a total hack job. Don't worry though, when we roll into town next week you will see a different theme. I would almost guarantee you we get more whistles than you guys. We play more physical than most teams and I think the refs are tired of listening to Izzo complain, especially Valentine. That guy has it out for us.

Hopefully both teams take care of business before next week. It would be nice to see both of us in the top 10 for our game. It's shaping out to be a real good one.

well, we only have iowa...but i believe it's a road game. Never know how that team is going to play. We better not be 7-30 from 3 again or they might send us packing with a loss.

This game really says a lot about how far UM baseketball has come. You shot terrible, didn't have SOME calls go your way, but still came away with a win against a tough opponent. Coach B has done wonders here, and now, he is starting to get some real good talent. It's looking good for you guys, real good.

Depends on which Iowa you get. Better hope you dont get the Iowa that went to the Kohl center and smacked Bucky in the Ass. If you get the Iowa team we just played, no worries.

I'm not going to lie though. I miss having a tough inside presence. McGary should help that next year, but i hope he stays at Michigan more than one year.

What all do you guys know about McGary besides being the #2 prospect ? I honestly haven't done much research on the guy. I read SOMEWHERE, not sure where, that McGary needed to improve on his physicality. I wouldn't think that the #2 recruit would need much work anywhere, but I am sure that is what I remember reading. Anyway you look at it though, when you bring in the number 2 guy in the nation, good things should happen.

Mitch Mcgary is a good rebounder and can bang. He's a really good post player, but he does have range with his shot. He'll be tough to guard in the B1G IMO.

At least from the few youtube clips, profiles, and scouting info that I've seen.

As with all high school kids, never a sure thing.
