TinselWolverine[/color]]It was a snippet on a sports update between segments of the Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley show - it was a local to LA update. At the beginning of the segment, Max Kellerman reported the same thing.

Obviously they didn't get the whole story; now they're updating their report to include the scholarships lost.
Yeah, one of the things I was watching was to see how fast and how accurate people were responding to see who has insider information and who does not. I wasn't trying to take a shot at you or anything.

I'm still hearing/reading conflicting reports. Here's the exact language from the NCAA report itself:

3. Limit total grants-in-aid in the sport of football to 82 for each of the 2012-13,
2013-14 and 2014-15 academic years. [NOTE: The institution had proposed a
reduction in the number of initial scholarships awarded in the sport of football by
a total of five spread over the 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15 academic years.]

So how many is that?

Good question. I thought the Scholarship limit was 85 per season. Does that mean they recruit as many players as they want but just keep the scholarships to 82 or less?

There are a lot of workarounds to the scholarship situation, esp with a new coach.

You can still recruit a kid and have them walk-on until a scholarship becomes available just as easily as you can find an upperclassmen or two who are academically struggling, skipping class, etc.

It's pretty easy to keep the guys you want to ... limiting scholarships may result in a player or two going elsewhere for a scholarship, but Herb is going to get any Ohio kid he wants who wants to be a buckeye regardless.
