One of our possible targets declares

boston was yoked, too bad it was roids. i don't want a WR in the first 2 rounds I know we could use one but I would rather it be a DE, CB, S, or C

I'd go for a DE. First round Center?

Expect another sputtering offense next year then.

Don't know if there is one but I wouldn't balk at the idea, Pouncey anyone? Talent dictates the draft but I wouldn't mind a cheap draft, S, C. Those guys will be cheap on their second contract and with suh, calvin, stafford we might need the room.

Go for a damn CB and try and get a diamond in the rough at receiver in the later rounds..Heck there has to be someone in the draft later or one that is going to be a free agent this year somewhere..

Evans has great size and athletic ability. I haven't researched much about him, so I have no idea about his work ethic. I think he'd obviously be a great weapon for us, but I don't think at this point I'd want us to take him at 10. I'd rather take Sammy Watkins, who is a much better route runner, just as good hands, and has better speed. But like Hughes said, if Evans runs a great 40, that might change.

Watkins is my guy as well, but i dont think he's there at #10. I would nut if he fell to us.

This season proves they need to draft a WR in the higher rounds.

By saying that you believe you can't get get a good WR outside the higher rounds. I don't believe that. I would prefer to take a CB, LB high and go with a WR round three or four. Or maybe two WR late. Or free agency. We need our secondary to be much better so our dline can be more effective. Imo anyway.

Of course you can get a good WR late but players like Evans and Watkins are studs and i don't think the Lions can go into another season with say Durham, an aging Burleson, Ogletree, a banged up Broyles, a project pick last year in Fuller and then another 1-2 more projects at WR ....no way. Maybe if they sign a FA WR then im on board. They're real young at CB and some of those youngsters were playing some good ball down the stretch. I think they go CB a little later .... offensive playmaker all the way IMO. My mind is made up..lol

I don`t know if I would want a C in the 1st or 2nd. There are no elite guys out there this year.

I honestly wouldn`t mind If they brought Dom back for another year on Vet minimum again. He had one of his best years in a long time, you could draft his replacement in the 3rd or 4th and let the kid challenge him for the starting spot.

Stork and the Arkansas center will be the first 2 to go. They might go late 2nd round based on need....talent whise theyre expected to go 3rdish round. definitely no pounceys in this years draft.

Biggest issue with evans will be his interviews.....seems like a thug.

Good post and I'm with ya. The Lions needed someone ready and able to play opposite Calvin...yesterday. Without one, it will be another year lost and will be more important next year, with the possibility of needing to start developing a #1 receiver. We are going to have to come to grips that Calvin might be done in a few years, I'd hate to see the Lions stuck with a rookie to fill his void.

I know some of you will disagree but a guy opposite Calvin just means over throws to another guy. We need to finish building that defense. New DC that might blitz won't work if the CB can't cover man to man. I'm not sold on those so called "young guys".

So completely forget about drafting weapons because you think Stafford is shit? That's a great move!! Would you please think before you post? My God, Mitch, you think Stafford is so junk that maybe we need to build around him and help him, right? But no! Let's just surround him with complete garbage and keep pointing our fn fingers and say "i told ya so" after we win 6-7 games a year. No thanks!! This team is built to win around that offense and they need 1 or 2 more players to complete the puzzle. WR is the way to go!!

The defense needs help too. I'm not sold on the secondary. As far as more offensive weapons all they need to get is a reliable number two. They don't need another Calvin..

The team isn't built around that offense or Mayhew wouldn't have went so heavy in the defensive line so much in recent years..Matt might not be shit but he sure is playing like it..
