Orange Bowl bound?

my guess braxton is playing QB for florida, FSU, or Oregon next year

well, based on this quote from Jones...I think we know he isn't going to be a Rhodes Scholar!

"Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL classes are POINTLESS,"

The one thing Buckeye fans can hang their hat on this week is that it's a given that Jones will not be distracted by anything going on in the classroom!

That is interesting. I guess it depends on what people tell him. If he is told that he has potential to get drafted I think there is a good chance he leaves. If not...he finishes his career as a Buckeye. I don't see him as an NFL QB. I think he finishes his career at OSU.

Mississippi state dropping was huge for MSU, going from 4th to 10th, wow

I didnt think we would pass up Miss State, especially since its the almighty SEC.

maybe the committee is sending a message to the NCAA teams....scheduling matters. FSU who has played nobody and barely squeaked by is 4th. MSU who has two losses but scheduled Oregon but has 2 losses is still in the top 8. The only question for me is how they have Baylor 2 spots below TCU when neither team has any great wins and Baylor beat them. Maybe if Baylor beats K State this weekend they leapfrog TCU....they really should.

Extremely extremely unlikely, but if Baylor, Zona, FSU, and Ohio State all lose along with the real long shot, TCU loses to 2-9 Iowa State, the playoffs would be Bama, Oregon, K State, and Michigan State. Not going to happen, but it is possible.

I don't have a problem with TCU being above Baylor. Baylor did win head-to-head but they were at home at had to rally from 21 down in the 4th quarter to win by 3. Strength of schedule edge goes to TCU who played the same Big 12 schedule but also got a non-conference victory over Minnesota 30-7, admittedly not great, but was 11 points away from playing in the Big Ten CCG.

I may re-think that if Baylor beats KSU convincingly which along with beating Oklahoma badly on the road and having the win vs TCU might be enough to give them the edge.

If they finish undefeated it will be hard to justify 4 other teams in front of them.

Yep. Undefeated, defending National Champs? No way they don't make the playoffs. TCU moving to three screws the Buckeyes, I think, if they somehow manage to get by Badgers. We (OSU fans) needed them (TCU) at four.

If I were to rank teams subjectively, I don't even think FSU would be in my Top 10. But there isn't any way you can justify leaving them out of the playoff, unfortunately.

I also like the double standard from the "experts" regarding them. You see a lot of stuff written about how they, "they just win, who cares how or by how much". Nevermind that given how mediocre the competition has been that they've scraped by. If this was say OSU (as actually at times in the past it was them) or any other Big Ten team, you'd be hearing all kinds of talk about how they don't belong, aren't any good, etc, etc.

I'm pretty confident that MSU would be 12-0 with their schedule, I have almost no doubt that they would. There's a difference between the rankings and who would be favored on a neutral site

Also, the orange bowl is new years eve at 8pm, I'm not a big new years fan so that's great for me.

Should be almost a guarantee now. Osu can't go to the orange because they're the big ten champ and Mississippi state would have to jump us while idle, not happening
