SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

Before Friday nights win over the orioles, The Detroit Tigers continued their horrendous slide.
They had 9 wins and 23 losses with a .281 winning percentage and worst in the AL (through Thursday). They are just 1 loss away from tying the tearing down Reds as the worst team in MLB and also achieving their early poor record of last year.

This despite the fact that the team added significantly to their roster over the winter. The Tigers spent $243 million alone just on free agents. They added a #1 catcher, SS, outfielder, 2 starting pitchers and a reliever. They also brought up their #1 draft prospect and moved Jonathan Schoop back to 2B, a position that got him nominated for a Gold Glove.

The team has one of MLB?s best bullpens. But their starting rotation ranks #24 and their offense is at or near the bottom in every major category. They are also defensively-challenged with only 2 players actively saving their team runs.
How surprised are you by their performance so far?

How surprised are you by the Tigers' performance so far this year?

1. Really shocked.

2. Not totally suprised.

3. Still too early to say.

4. Not surprised at all.

Doesn't sound like the closer job is open for the Tigers just yet.

"Gregory Soto will pitch the ninth tomorrow with the lead," A.J. Hinch said.
"We need everybody."
