Just said on the radio that he believes that Bush will be a Lion after all is said and done. Dave Birkett also noted that the interest is very real.

Anyone totally against this? Does it depend on the price?

With the crop of 3rd down backs in the draft this year I hope so.

If the price is right why not. Then we can fill other needs in the draft,

You mean it's not all doom and gloom because we have free agency and a draft to fill holes?

It's not all doom and gloom, but it's also not all rainbows, sunshine, and kitties purring.

Believe it or not exactly. If we can resign a few guys let others walk (Avril). We may actually even win a few games next year lol.

True but Mayhew does a good job and actually learns lessons and adapts (see 2012 character draft after 2011) and has proven he has the ability to obtain key free agents. 2013 is a big proove it year.

It's his last year if he fails...or at least should be his last year.

And he'll get a nice extension if the Lions do well. Hope for that becuase Mayhew is a good GM if Round 2/3 injuries kill him it will be a shame. Especially with Millen getting extended in 2005.

Everyone is worth it at the right price. Bush isnt worth more than RB-share money at this point. He's a good compliment, and a good returner, but not someone we should be expecting to suddenly be an impact player.

I agree with the right price part.

However, Bush is more than a compliment and would very much be an impact player in the Lions offense. He is a perfect fit for us.

Put it this way, who would you rather see with the ball in his hands on the swing route, screens and dump downs.......Reggie Bush or Joique Bell?

I called this weeks ago. Overpay to bring in Reggie Bush. Fail.

Not too mention 99% of our FAs are overpaid. Do we really want to be stuck with 30 year old Reggie Bush guaranteed (and dead by that point) money? If Mayhew is a long term guy like everyone claims this is dumb.

I'd like to see what he wants first and what Mayhew offers. I don't want over-priced either but no guarantee it happens.

And I still feel that way. Why would he want to come here?

Money. Only reason. Getting paid like a number 1 back that wasn't scrapped by the Saints and Phins. Sucker born every minute.

There are a lot more suckers besides Mayhew.

I guess we'll see come March 12. Spend 5 mil a year on Pro Bowl guard like Levitre (for example) who will play out his contract or on Reggie Bush a luxury overpay that will be dead money in 2 years tops. All speculation now.
