OT- Am I being petty?

Dear Board,
My ex and I have been split for over a year, but I want to "win" the break-up. We both will be attending a mutual friend's wedding (during the MSU game nonetheless) and I want to make sure my date is hotter than she is. More importantly, I need a UM fan considering my ex is a state fan now. I consider this combo mandatory in my search, am I being ridiculous?

The potential for your ex and her new guy to be "that couple" at the wedding becomes much higher the more you enjoy a loose night in their view. Do I need to explain "that couple"? Every couple that exists has been that couple at some gathering at some point. They argue, fight, drink too much. etc. It's a statistical matter at this point. And her seeing you enjoy yourself and perhaps another woman raises the probability. You are no worse for the wear.

Enjoy yourself and be the better man. Don't worry about going dateless. Be gracious to your ex. God, i wish I young again knowing what I know now

I think it's time to let it go, man. If it's been more than a year, there's no point in opening those old wounds.

I took this approach with a college girlfriend after 3 or 4 months. Now I wish I hadn't been such an asshole. Be the bigger person. If you insist on taking a date, take one who's company you can genuinely enjoy. If you must feel like you've won, just spending time with someone that makes you happier than she did will sting more than someone who looks better.

By the way, you should've made your second poll option "If your date isn't hotter, then it's not worth missing the second biggest game of the season".

I saw a chick I dated in college for a while earlier this summer. She was pretty bitchy when she and I had broken up and she was living out here too.
