OT - Dish Network issue

Same. Even when streams are smooth, watching it compared to cable/satellite is another world.

You'll be surprised. I've had Direct TV go out for a day or more at a time. They're not perfect. But it's really about money. The equipment charges kill you.

We've had Direct for a few years. Losing the signal does suck, but I'll stream in those situations.

Well, this issue has been resolved

at 8AM this morning, FOX and Dish came to an agreement.

Where I live, the local ABC affiliate has been down since March. That will still pose a problem this season (since I have DVR noon games). But luckily all of the greedy bastards worked out the issue with FS1 and BTN (NOT FSD though).

I have ATT Uverse. It's pretty expensive but works well. I have a bundle which includes a phone line, high speed internet service and 4 cable boxes that allow you to watch anything that was recorded at all 4 locations. One of the boxes is wireless so I can take it outside to watch sports on the deck or in the garage. Our bill is about $274 per month.

I see some of the options that were talked about here but none of those include a phone line or high speed internet. Also, can you use them at all TV locations? It also sounds like the quality is average at best.

I wouldn't mind saving some money if there are QUALITY options.

Yeah, Dish came out and installed an antenna for me, so I can watch ABC 53.

The DVR really doesn't work with it, though. I'll have to ask my wife to start the recording and then stop it myself after the game this weekend.

All of these noon games are kicking my butt.

Pretty pissed DirecTV took away their Native setting in their most recent update. It allowed your TV or receiver to handle upscaling of the picture instead of the DirecTV equipment which doesn't do nearly as good of a job. No channel broadcasts in anything better than 1080i and 1080i is shit resolution as it is just upscaled 540p interlaced over itself. My 4k Sony has great upscaling so I could eliminate 1080i as a resolution option and have my TV upscale from 720p. The picture was outstanding. Now with the Native feature removed, I'm stuck with shitty 1080i being as good as it gets.

This might be the final push to make me go to a streaming service.

How well does their antenna work? Its ABC53 that's down for me as well, so it sounds like we may be in the same broadcasting area. Assuming your 53 is out of the Lansing area.

Works great with the exception of the dvr issue.

I just called and complained, mentioned that my friend had dish come out and and install an antenna for free, and they agreed to do it for me.

Sometimes you have to reach that point where you say something like, "I'm really thinking of just cancelling everything" Then they'll make you all sorts of deals.
